Having heard the commercials on the radio, repeatedly, as a practicing optometrist, for close to 30 years, I wanted more information on this non-surgical, non-optical method for improving myopia, hyperopia and astigmatism.

I called the toll-free number and asked for the free video and was asked if I would like the package of audio tapes for just a little over $300.00, which could be paid for in just "three easy payments". I wanted only the free video tape and begrudgingly, it was sent out.

I viewed the tape and all it contained was testimonials from people who had tried it along with more advertising by Marriet Hartley, who swears by the Method. There was not one bit of scientific evidence offered for the Method's effectivness, nor was there any mention of what the excercises were.

A week later, I received a number of brochures from them with additional opportunities to purchase the audio tapes. One booklet, which was "Questions and Answers" asked why optometrists were not aware of this method. And the answer was that hundreds were using it in their practices already!

I called and identified myself as a practicing optometrist and was curious about these methods and how could I learn more. I was told that it was just a bunch of excercies based on some theories from 50 years ago, called visual training excercises.
I asked for a list of the doctors participating in the program and was told that they did not want their names released. Something about privacy!!!! I would call it- free advertising!

In short- It is a total waste of time as well as a waste of money. Stick with the eyeglasses and contact lenses!

Do the eye exercises yourself

AUTHOR: Basic - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, March 19, 2009

Try and do the methods yourself and see if they work. Remember this time and dedication to make them work. I'm not surprised that you say they are scams because your a doctor.

Have an open mind instead of just thinking about your wallet. I'm doing the method myself and have seen a vast improvement in my eyesight. The way the company is billing you may not be the best way to practice business, however the method itself i feel works.

O.D. (DOCTOR) RESPONSE TO REBUTTAL.....

AUTHOR: Kenneth - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, July 07, 2003

Well, Dr. JM in Iowa,

I appreciate your response to my report, no matter how late it was after my posting.

Other than another testimonial from an un qualified layperson - you have added absolutely nothing to my original statement regarding the "SEE CLEARLY METHOD" other than another uninformed layperson's opinion working for a doctor who "SELLS" this hokey method to his cusomers, to make money!!!!

Please descibe to the public, if you are able to, exactly what your vision "problem" was. Was it myopia, facultative hyperopia, absolute hyperopia, astigmatism (with the rule or against the rule) convergence insufficiency, esotropia or exotropia or a combination of any of the above????

OR do I have to send your boss $300.00 in three easy payments to receive an explanation??

Thank you for your response,

Asking The Right Questions

AUTHOR: J.M. - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, July 06, 2003

Dr. Ken was trying to elicit medical advice from a salesperson. Sales Team members with See Clearly will never give medical advice. It's against the law.

See Clearly does have a toll free customer service and consultant number that will happily handle these types of questions as well as helping to provide a list of their assoc. doctors. The customer service number is clearly posted on their web site as well as available from the phone agents.

See Clearly sales agents DO try to sell people the Method, of course they do. It's a business in almost the same way that an eye doctor is in the business of selling glasses and contacts.

I first heard of the See Clearly Method from my optometrist, two years before I started working for them. He recommended the Method to me as an alternative to laser surgery. Well, two years later and, guess what, haven't worn glasses in over a year.

Calling something a rip off without having used of investigated any further than calling an 800 number seems pretty severe and wholly irresponsible. The customer service number is clearly posted on their web site.
