here we go. another guard crying about how hard his job is. you applied for the job, so stop crying , you lazy bumb. if you get beat up, you probrably were acting tough with your uniform on. most jails run by sherrifs departments are the most poorly run jails around. bring it punk.

Well first off your boyfriend had to commit a crime to get fined and when you are fined you get anywhere between 30 to 45 days to pay the fine and you are advised at that time that failure to pay the fine will be contempt of court and you will have a warrant issued for your arrest. He does not have bail or bond because he is probably serving his original sentence that was imposed on his. Most of the time the sentence goes something like this "you are sentenced to 30 days in jail with 30 days suspended and ordered to pay a 100 dollar fine".

Don't pay the fine and you serve the original sentence which in the example I gave would be the 30 days in jail. It is hard to feel sympathy because 1 he commited a crime and 2 did not do what he needed to do to not go to jail.

As far as him getting jumped I am sorry about his pain, but in jail if you keep a low profile you are generally left alone. The guards are not babysitters, they can not see everything that goes on in the facility. Their job is hard enough. We go to work and if we make a mistake we might get talked to by our bosses or upset a co-worker. These guys make a mistake and they might get injured or killed. Imagine going to work every day thinking that it might be your last day alive.

Inmates are served 3 meals a day in any facility you go to if they were only getting 1 meal a day the aclu would jump on them faster than you can say "double cheeseburger".

I truly feel sorry for you that you have to go thru. I know it is hard on you to worry about him and raise your son without his help.

Hopefully this experience will serve as a wakeup call for him to keep his nose clean and accept responsibility for his actions (that includes being responsible enough to pay his fines) as well as mature enough to know that his biggest responsibility taking care of his family and raising a child.
