I was sent an item via UPS which was going from MA to me in TX. On 1 May 2009 this package was dropped off at my house front porch. I didn't sign for it; it was simply left at my front door. I didn't want this shipment so I asked my wife to take it to the local UPS store here in Pearland, TX to be returned to sender. I never even opened the box to see what it was. I told her she shouldn't have to pay anything, just refuse receipt and have it returned to sender. This UPS store told her there was no such thing as return to sender and she would have to pay for it if we wanted it returned. So she did so not knowing any better, she also didn't know to insure it not knowing what it was. She was forced to pay $18.59 to have it returned to the sender. When it was received back from the original shipper he called me and told me the box was all beat up and the item was completely destroyed and in pieces. He immediately called UPS to file a claim and they told him since I was the shipper I would have to fill the claim. When I called the "Main" UPS line they told me all I had to do is call them and they would have come and picked it up for free and sent it back. This store refused to tell us that and will not admit they should have. Then on the return trip completely BROKE the item in question. He "original shipper" was the one with the insurance on the item for full value of $350.00. I went to and called the local UPS store in question to tell them the problem and since it was Saturday they told me the manager would call me on Monday, so Monday at 10:30 am no call yet, so called the store to speak with the manager and told the entire story to her. She said "it not our responsibility to tell you the proper return to sender procedures and how do I know it came back in the original box with original label." I told her it was returned to the store the very next morning barley 12 hours later not even opened. They refuse to cover the full amount of the PS3 and even admit I shouldn't of paid for the return shipping and since that technicality they are saying they are responsiblie even thou they admit to completly breaking my Playstation 3!
BEWARE! DUE NOT GO TO THIS STORE!
