ThePolice.com website indicated last year, that purchasing a membership would allow members to buy tickets to their sold out shows. The way their website made it sound, was that buying a membership for $100 would give you access to ticket stock that the general public would not.
I bought tickets to the Toronto show and when my wife and I arrived at the venue, much to our surprise we had seats in the extreme nose bleed level, just one row from the ceiling. There were other "fan club members" in the same area felt ripped off as well.
We could have easily purchased tickets via normal routes, and had much better seats. So that's the first half of the rip off.

The second came today, when thepolice.com (Ultrastar Entertainment) charged my credit card a "renewal" membership fee of $100. What? I never agreed to a automatically renewing membership. Why would anyone want to ? Of course the website doesn't have a phone number, or a real contact - just a feedback button.
I'll be reporting these jerks to my credit card company as a fraudulent charge of course.

I think the Police should be embarrassed by how they are treating fans (especially those of us in our 40's that funded their original success). The fan club was a huge waste of time, the seats were aweful, auto-renew feature is clearly just a way to screw people over...
