I made a car rental reservation with Thrifty Car Rental for Cancun, Mexico. They quoted $130 for a week. At the counter, I was informed that the total would be $459 because of manditory insurance. I informed them that I had been assured by the agent that rented the car that my credit card covered part of the insurance and my USA auto policy covered the rest and that I would not have to purchase additional insurance. A complete rip off; I was charged $329 extra for insurance for one week.

I will never rent from Thrifty again.
