I answered an ad on Indeed.com for a work-at-home quality inspector.  A month went by and then I was contacted by email with a PDF about the job.  It sounded good but I thought the job pay was way too much.  I signed the contract.  This was a 1-month contract.

In my gut it sounded like a scam from the beginning but her website link she sent looked legit and the tracking number website was legit.

I was told she would be sending me boxes where a consumer(s) would be sending back things that they bought for a refund from the company.

My job was to inspect the goods, giving serial #s and brand model, original tracking information, tell if the goods were damaged or not and send her a short note with basic questions answered.

I was also to take pictures of the box itself and all items in the box and email her those pictures.  She put in big red letters to never use the packing label in the box, it was imperative to wait for her to email a new packing label to mail it.

She sent me the first box, and I could tell the box had not gone somewhere else first (the person who bought it), but was originally sent to my address with a fictitious name.  I had never heard of the person that was typed above my address.

The bill in the box said to Deliver to this unknown person at my address and to bill this person at my address for the merchandise.  That's when I knew it was a scam obivously.

T. Finn, was in a real big hurry for me to verify the box and she she would send the shipping label immediately, and that I was supposed to mail the box today.  I'm supposing the box would be going to her and I would be stuck for the bill.

I notified the cosmetic store where the box came from and told them the story.  They verified it had been ordered by this unknown person with my address.  The sent me a prepaid label and told me not to worry about anything.

They did take down the unknown person and also T. Finn in case she tries to use them again.  I told Finn on my last email this morning that I had mailed the box back to the place I received it from.  She was furious and said she was going to report me to the police.

BTW, her "888" # never works.  Also, the pay was to be $2200 a month plus $30 for every box mailed.  That's another red flag.  I have no experience for this work and I was never interviewed.  Just an email and she sent me a one-month contract to sign.
