Time Warner Cable - Road Runner road runner changed the contract KC, Missouri

I was told when I signed up for Time Warner cable that the contract was for one year. Today when I called to cancel by services, I was told that this contract did some magicial turn over in Sept  of every year and that my contract automatically went from a year contract to now being a 15 month contract. This was not explained to me at all when I signed up and I talked to two different people to set up my account. Time Warner is a rib-off and cheat. Plus they had bad service from the begining.
