I purchased a website affliate program for $250. Was told that a marketing coach would call me and work with me. When the "Marketing Coach" called me, I agreed to purchase an advertising package for a website to be determined. The assigned me a domain name, for illustration purposes only, so I was told.
After they got my credit card information, I started asking questions about the products services, etc. Then all of a sudden the tone changed and the person who just spent over an hour with me who told me he was my marketing coach wasn't my marketing coach and was just a salesperson who couldn't get off the phone fast enough.
I started to feel very uncomfortable so I told him I wasnt' sure I wanted to to commit to this and before I could finish my sentence he said he had to go. I called him back, left messages the next day, no response. Then less then 48 hours later, after no response, I called customer service and ask them what I need to do to cancel. The told me I could not cancel. I was not provided any information except a receipt for the charge.
I immediately called my credit card company and ask them what I could do. They said they would take care of it. I filed a dispute. TKI provided my credit card company with a bunch of lies, although they provided no proof. They said I did not cancel in accordance with their policy, which was never provided. To their knowledge I never canceled.
So if I never cancelled, then why didn't they send the information regarding my website to me? Why didn't the marketing coach every call me? So, if I didn't cancel then why didn't they ever contact me? or send me the information that they were supposed to send me?
I thought I cancelled, so I didn't contact them.
I am appealing and refuting their response, but it was all lies.

Dawn, I know how you feel, i have been ripped off in a similar manner. However, i think that it would be greatly helpful if you can provide more detail in your report. For example. What was the domain name that they sold you. What is the website of the company that you signed up with? Do you have their phone number, address, name of rep you spoke with etc? How did the charge appear on your credit card?
If you want to do something about this.....here is some tips.
Find out how the charge appears on your credit card.
Try to find out who the merchant bank is who allows this company to accept credit cards. Once you have figured this out, contact them and tell them exactly what they are doing and how they scammed you. Believe me, that this is the best way to get them back since if they cannot accept credit cards, they wont be able to scam people anymore.
Your bank should be able to help you in determining what company allows them to process credit cards.
Of course, you should also report them to the ftc and to the attorney generals office in the state which they operate.
In future reports, be sure to include as much detail about the company as you are aware of. It will help stop them sooner!!!!!
good luck
