Guy approached me stating that he had got luck and had extra speaker from a job he completed and wanted to sell them. He showed me an unopened box of Cerwin Vega AVS632 and a glossy card with a price of almost 1000.00 and he showed me unopened boxes of the Audiofile 583xt. He told me he wanted to sell thes because they were extras and he needed the money because he only made an small hourly wage.

There were 2 people, the main person was a spanish looking guy and a young woman. The woman didn't really say a whole lot. He originlly wanted 700.00 for the whole lot and I haggled with him and wound up paying 600.00 for all only to find out that the Cerwin Vega speaker can be bought for less than 300.00 and I haven't found any information on the Audiofiles anywhere. I suppose I was the fool.

These guys frove a white chevy van that had the T&M Enterprises on the door. They even gave me a receipt with phone number and all. I called the phone number and get an answering machine.

just a tip guys

AUTHOR: Mike - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, March 23, 2003

I've been following all of this on the web the last couple of weeks. The guys here in nyc work in my neighborhood. Anyway, if you do go to get your money bring friends, like 5 big ones. There was a guy on another forum that had the following experience in nyc:

"Product or Service Involved: Audiofile Speakers

I actually ran into the guys who sold me bad speakers. I never thought I'd see them again. Their "office" ( PANZINE INC ) is at 10-43 48th Ave. I spoke to a guy named Carl (the same guy who actually took my hard earned money from my hand) who said I should return the next night and his boss would reimburse me. When I returned, with speakers and receipt, I was more or less intimidated by a group of about five shady looking guys who told me that I needed to call and make an appointment and that there was a three day return policy. Well, I called this morning and was told there was nothing they could do for me. I told the guy ( Jim ) that I knew he was running a scam and would do everything in my power to stop him. I have the license plate number of the van, the names of three employees and the location of where they house these whack speakers. What can I do? "

anyway, there not going to want to give your money back. Hell, see if you can get the police to come with you.

good luck guys-just be careful

go up to this address they are there

AUTHOR: Francisco - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, March 22, 2003

Virgil, I went up there about an hour after I bought them and walked in and was "greeted" by some dude named Nate with a hellatious unibrow. I told him I was there to return some speakers, he said the manager wasn't there and he was the guy who could give me my money back. I got a business card of a guy named Mano Garcia, with a phone number on it. Figuring there was little I could do I right then, I went home. I called up there about an hour later and asked for Mano and spoke with him and he said that I could come and get my money Monday. Anyways I am gonna cruise by that place this whole weekend to make sure they don't leave. It is that 1915 Peters Rd. address their suite number is 113. This place is on the opposite side of Airport Freeway from Texas Stadium. I'll be sure to post any progress I have made. Type the address in Mapquest and go up there. The phone # is 972-579-900.
