I was very surprised to find this criticism on Ripoff Report.  The home that was reference reported an issue and we responded To the call and promptly took action to remedy the problem. The entire corrective action was done quickly and completly at Todd Johnston Homes expense, the owners were  pleased that we stood behind our work. The house was over 8 years old but that did not matter, Todd Johnston Homes warrants our homes for 10 Years. In fact, to the best of my knowledge, we have the best warranty in the business.  We have been building homes in Sarasota since 1979 and have thousands of happy customers and a Great reputation as an honest builder who builds a quality home. My philosophy in business as always been to build quality home and  treat customers the way I would want to be treated.  I am consistently approached by old customers who compliment me and my company on both the their home and the building experiece and many of them have built multiple homes with us.  Our reputation and referrals  are what have made Todd Johnston Homes successful.

Obviosly, in a perfect world, we never would have had a problem with the home in the Lake Club...but, I don't live in a perfect world.  What is important is that we responded quickly and took care of the problem promply after receiving  one call notifying us of the problem.  Many other builders warranty expires after just one, or two years, and would  have done anything.  I question the motivation of whoever filled this report given our response.    Sincerely, Todd.
