Since the loss of my wife last year due to illness, I've found the dating scene to be a bit difficult to get acclamated to. As I was out one day, I saw a sign that advertised for, what appeared to be a "local" singles group called Fallston Singles. Thinking that I might get to meet others in close proximity to my home, I logged onto their website and submitted a basic profile.


Within a couple days, I received a phone call from Together Dating Service. They said they were affiliated with Fallston Singles. After asking a bunch of "profile" questions, the girl wanted me to come to Columbia, Maryland for an appointment to set up an account and get me started on the road to everlasting love. Since Columbia is quite a distance from Fallston (red flag), I balked at taking the trip. This was met with some high pressure from this girl. When I asked about cost, the subject was met with diversionary tactics by Miss Cupid (another red flag). I could go on and on about the particulars of our conversation, but suffice it to say, I left it at no thank you, I'm not interested.

Since then, I've been plagued with numerous phone calls, often many in one day. Every time, it's a different female with the same pitch. And every time, my reply is to remove my number from their call list as I am not, and never will be interested in their service. To this day, the calls continue.

I've filed a complaint with the FCC and my local phone carrier. It's kind of ironic that I've rejected their service and get countless phone calls, yet the poor people that get hooked by these vultures, and pay thousands of dollars, are lucky to hear from them at all!

My advice is that, if you see an advertisement for what appears to be a local singles organization in your neighborhood, walk cautiously! It may well be a scam for predators like Together Dating Service. If they were reputable, they wouldn't hide behind the scam of using a front like a "neighborhood" dating service to rook you into their clutches.
