ToledoToledo K-9 Performance Academy Very Poor Training! Did not live up to promises of what they could accomplish. Sylvania Ohio

I first called and spoke with Randy the owner/trainer about needing a little further training for my dog. She had had puppy training and obedience training already. I asked him about training collars and if he could train my dog in his 3 week program to be off leash and trained with the collar. He said it would be no problem at all. He even went so far as to recomend a collar ($300.00) that he uses with his dogs. I was a bit worried about my dog eating at a strange place since she had not stayed for that long of a time away from home. He said "we make sure they eat and if they are having a problem we would even fix them some eggs to get them eating!" So I thought this all sounded great and bought the $300.00 training collar and paid my $900.00 fee for 3 weeks and dropped off my dog. I called 3 days later and asked if my dog was eating and Randy told me " well Im not your dogs trainer but Im sure she is eating or Dustin would have said something" I asked if I could speak with Dustin and he said "he wasnt there at the moment." I received a call in the 2 week and was asked if my dog had any health issues. Randy stated that some dogs pretend to have an injured leg (limp) so they dont have to train. I told him "NO, she has a problem sometimes and gets treatment from the vet in the form of pills when it flairs up." I wasnt offered the option of seeing my dog but just to drop off the pills and he would keep her crated when not being trained. 2 days before I was to pick her up I called and was able to speak with Dustin. I told Dustin I was going to pick her up on Saturday instead of Monday because of my schedule. He said " I thought we had another week with her I better get the video done." At that time I knew that the training was not done properly. I went to pick her up on Saturday and was lead in by Dustin to watch the video and to go over what training was done. The video was explaination in its self. She was not off collar or trained on the training collar. Basically it was here you go, keep up the training at home! When he brought out the food I had left he explained that there was so much left because she didnt eat the first 4 days. He also said when they would put food or water in her crate she would just dump it out. So I dont really know how much she ate or drank during her stay but she had lost weight and had not learned anything at K-9. Because of being ripped off by this training place I would not recomend to anyone to leave your dog with any training place that you cant see whats going on. Let alone for 3 weeks!

I did not contact the company again and did not return for the 2 classes they said I had left to do since to me it would make no difference.
