 He did work in my bathrooms in December, I have no hot water in tub, one sink that does not drain and cold water in half bath comes out in a drip. He has had 6 months to do repairs and never even attempted to fix them. He was paid in full for this work. I have to hire a plumber to take care of repairs.

He attempted to convert a gas log fireplace to crushed glass and replace the tile. Fireplace would not stay lit and you were able to smell gas everytime you tried to start it. He told me to call the gas company and report a leak. We had to hire a fireplace company to repair it. I was told that he could have caused a combustible explosion. The wall he repaired after taking out the old tile was built so uneven that in places the tile is sticking out from the wall. He bent the unit so that the grate does not fit or hold in place. The shelve he built is uneven. I have to hire someone to remove the tile and reconstruct the wall and then retile it again. We spent $270.00 on glass we cannot use, over $300 in tile and the cost to do this work and replace tile is over $700.00.

The island he built was so unlevel that our counter could not be installed, the company told us that the whole island would have to ripped out and rebuilt.  The cabinets were indented in several places, you could see broken tile that was not covered by the cabinets, the trim, doors, etc. were not even. There were 2 x 4 that were not attached to anything. It cost us $1200.00 for labor plus another $500.00 in materials.

The back wall where he was to replace tile has wholes and is so uneven, plus that wrong material was used. We have to have the wall repaired and the same person who will tile the fireplace will tile the backsplash. 

We have to hire a plumber to install sink and RO System, plus hook up plumbling for the dishwasher and frigerator.

We have to hire an electrician to change out the outlets.

I had to hire a company to remove wood in 4 cabinet doors to be replaced with glass. I have to paint walls that were damaged and the ceiling where he installed can lighting.

We had to rent a truck and haul all of the debris he left behind to a dump site. This is all mentioned because these items were all promised to be included in the price he quoted. He started on the kitchen the first week in April, showed up the whole week, sometimes only for half a day and then it was a couple of hours here and there. He took other jobs and would show up at the end of the day to do somethings for 1 or 2 hours.

We had talked to him about how upset we were by the poor work he did and not showing up to complete the jobs. He asked for money upfront and was paid $4000.00 promising that he would make things right. He promised week after week to remove all the old cabinets, wood, tile, boxes, ect from our garage and back porch. He had an excuse week after week for not coming.

When he told us to call the gas company to fix the problem he created and after looking at how the cabinets were installed and the other areas where he started work we decided he did not have the knowledge or desire to complete the job. We called and told him to pick up his things, night after night we waited for him and he never showed. He never came over to speak to us or try to resolve these issues. I got one text weeks later that asked if I wanted him to fix things.

We sent him 4 certified letters along with all our receipts and pictures of his shabby work, we never heard from him until several days ago, text message stateing that he offered to fix things but I did not answer him. He refused to speak to my husband.

We have been without a kitchen since the first week in april and have had the plumbing issues since December. I thought I could trust him and when he asked for money I paid him. He was paid in full for the bathrooms for months but never once would he take the time to rectify the problems. Would you have allowed him back into your home?

We asked for $4,000 to be returned to us to help cover what is going to cost us over $7000.00 in repairs and purchases.

He told us he was bonded and insured but we could not find any information containing any certification of such. His truck states he is bonded and he had a high rating on the BBB. What can we do to get some of this money back?
