This is a learning experience. Please tell us what was the taxes were. I know taxes in CA are very expensive. Never leave without the finalized paper work. This would prevent any problems with financing not going through or changing amounts. You signed the papers you agreed to the price you are responsible to do research. If you failed to do this beforehand it is your fault. I spent 3 months researching my car. Karl is a Sysco so dont listen to him.

You can probably 'Google' this- TOYOTA TO PULL OUT OF CALIFORNIA PLANT, and read the CNNMoney.com article that just came out! I believe it's the same plant where a woman 'BLEW THE WHISTLE' about 'DEFECT REPORTS' that were being 'ALTERED', & there was a 'COVER UP' regarding 'DEFECTIVE CARS'.

the bank or finance company where they have their car loan & get the copies that the bank has, because there COULD be an 'EXTENDED WARRANTY' that was put into your loan without your knowledge or consent, right?

Ralee,
Canada must really be different. Because in the US the BBB is PRO-Business they are not going to help this person at all. But even if they could help, in this case there is no justification for a complaint.
There is no agency that is going to force the car dealer to give this person $2500 or take back the car just because they FEEL that they were overcharged. Even if they were overcharged by $25,000 or $250,000 they signed the contract agreeing to the price. The time to decide if you are being overcharged is BEFORE you sign the contract.
By the way if the dealer undercharged her by $2,500 do you think that she would be so willing to just give them the difference back...I think not.

GET THE COPIES that the bank & mortgage company received from the ones who sent in the papers in order to assure that NO 'hanky-panky' took place, wouldn't EVERYONE agree? Imagine if your loan papers for your car, or house were ALTERED, or even FORGED! That would mean that you DIDN'T sign the paperwork after all, correct?

Then the responses are cut and paste OMG this was how you got ripped off and you bought a lemon. WOW I hope nobody thought they were actually helping. My advice, Ignore everything above my coment and call the BBB. Good Luck

You signed a contract, and now you want a refund or you'll return the car?
Good luck with that. Cars aren't bedsheets, they're not returnable. Next time read what you sign.

NOT 'negotiating' a price, in most instances. What they are 'negotiating' is the PAYMENT! That's WHY car dealers are able to SCAM most consumers in the USA. Simply go to Stopautofraud.com and click on the 'Dateline NBC Investigation' that is highlighted on their web page, & you can actually WATCH how the SCAM takes place.

How car sales work.
AUTHOR: Flynrider - (U.S.A.)
SUBMITTED: Wednesday, August 26, 2009
You go to a dealer and you negotiate the price of the car you want to buy. When you both agree on a price, a contract is drawn up and the sale is completed. If you signed a contract agreeing to pay $16,053 for this car, why should they give you any money back?
My guess is that you didn't do your homework to find out what the car was worth before you bought it. Now you want a do-over. Sorry, but when you sign a contract agreeing to a price, that's what it will cost you.
Better luck next time.
