I had just retired after 22 yrs in the Military, finished my last tour to Afghanistan & had exhausted all the moving money to move my family back to Texas, which meant I had to leave some stuff behind in San Diego. One of which was my prized Military Style AM General Hummer. I put my name in for a search for carriers & was bombarded by dozens of brokers calling my mobile phone. Most of the prices were around $900.

So when one company Called Transport Relief called and said they could without a doubt get it to me for $495 I thought that is incredible, I asked them how this was possible since it was so much less than others I had talked to. They said they have trucks that travel this route all the time and they specialized in this specific route (TOTALY B.S.-LIE). I made sure they understood it was a full sized Hummer & I could not afford to go much higher than what they quoted because I just retired, I did not have a job, & my family was not in a good spot financially because I was newly retired. They said that it would not go over what they quoted, & like a fool I believed them.

When I got the contract it was very lengthy & to my fault I did not go over it with a fine tooth comb (I trusted these lying snakes that set this whole thing up! Ian, Trish and Raven). I also tried to pay by credit card but they said they could not accept a credit card only check over the phone( this should have sent off alarm bells, because it is hard to get your money back from using a check-that is why they do this, you cant get your money back!)

Long Story Short-They took my money, and stopped working on trying to move my vehicle-they would not even return my phone calls. When I finally got in touch with after many calls  they told me I mis-led them about my vehicle(which is a total B.S. lie), they raised the quote to over a thousand dollars plus their $200 do nothing fee.
I wanted a refund, but I was told that I should have read the fine print on my contract and they would not refund my so called "DEPOSIT". This is what you call the Bait & Switch. I later found out that I could not move an economy car from just one state over for that phony Misquoted B.S. price. Now I am out $200. I am back to my original idea to take a MAC flight to San Diego & drive the Vehicle back. I am also going to report them to the Internet Crime Complaint Center (ICCC) and anyone else who will listen because as you can see by other reviews they have done this before. If a company offers you an extremely low price like this company did-HANG UP THE PHONE, IT IS NOT FOR REAL! "If it seems too good to be true....."

I have recently found out that these persons are possibly running this business from a rented house, they successfully move some people by putting the vehicle on the list of vehicles to be picked up by carriers, these customers were not quoted ridiculously low prices and they get them to write a positive review, but the MAJORITY of their money comes in from the Bait and Switch tactic when their reputations finally get ruined or the police/Feds get involved they change company names and move on and do it all over again.

Too Good To Be True

Sadly we see this a lot. Brokers find Military Personnel to be easy targets because they don't make much money to pay for a civil trial attorney.
You may want to try contacting DOT and FMCSA
Their Authority # MC810419 & DOT # 2366976

I feel for you as you have served your country and as an American I say THANK YOU

NOW: Price too good to be true? Run away!
PAYMENT: Check by phone? Run Away! This company just opened this January 2013 (very possible they have run this scam under several other names over the years).

Consumers! Please! There are thousands of brokers who rip people off each & every day. They low ball prices to catch you in their web but you must remember that they aren't doing this for free. They are going to keep between $150 to $200 and then post the car on Central Dispatch and No decent carrier is going to move a vehicle that will lose them money.

Brokers pay for a bond,a website, an 800 number and possibly an office.
Carriers have to pay drivers, fuel, truck payments, insurance, heavy road use taxes, quarterly fuel taxes, registrations, truck maintenance & repairs and it goes on and on and on.  The quotes for $900 were more realistic if they came from carriers. $900 from a broker is questionable depending on what % they plan on keeping.
