Trebour Fish Farm Michael Trebour Raises peice after a security deposit is placed. Williston, Florida
*REBUTTAL Owner of company: WHAT REALLY HAPPENED WITH THE POND LINER
I paid a $200 deposit for a pond liner valued at $600. So i was under the impression that the balance was $400. I asked for and was granted an extension on the pick up date due to cold weather. When i was ready to pay the remaining $400 i was told the liner was $800 total due to the increase in the cost of the glue used to manfacture the liner and that i actually owed $600 additional instead of $400. I explained to the owner that you cannot change the cost of an item once a security deposit has been placed. I demanded to pay the original agreed upon price or be issued a refund, both options were refused via email.

WHAT REALLY HAPPENED WITH THE POND LINER
AUTHOR: trebou fish farm - (USA)
SUBMITTED: Friday, February 05, 2010
Let me start by giving you our future customers of trebour fish farm a brief summary of the truth of the pond liner situation with jason fernandez of interlachen fl. later i will go into further detail about the author (jason) and our dealings.
first let me say very little of what jason has wrote is true, in fact it is limited to the first 9 words. everything else is false. so yes he paid me a non refundable deposit of $200 which is partial payment on a liner that costed $1000 without installation. we had set a pickup date for 2 weeks after the deposit was made. so i built the liner. 2 weeks later no jason to pickup the liner. so i called him and found out his phone had been disconnected. leaving me no way to contact him.
1 month passes by no call about the liner
2 months no call from jason about the liner
3 months pass by (97 days to be exact) and i finally get a call saying that he is ready for the liner. i told him the balance due is $800. he told me he had gotten a new phone number 3 months ago while he was working in key west fl and forgot to give me the number.
jason then told me he couldnt afford the liner he had ordered and he would need to make a smaller pond. i told him he was still responsible for the cost of the larger liner. he said he had a friend that would want it if i built him the smaller liner. i told him the cost of the liners and glue had gone up due to inflation and the liners would cost more. he said he wouldnt pay anymore for the liners and i would keep the price on the liners the same because he had put a deposit on the liner and if i didnt he would go get a lawyer and sue me.
i told jason fernandez i would honor the original verbal contract and he would have 5 business days to pick up the liner and pay the $800 remaining in full. it had been over 100 days since the order had been placed.
i have not had any contact from him since
so i ask you have i done wrong? i now have $600 in material costs on a custom made liner that will take me years to sell and i will never get the original asking price.
what would you do? if you have any questions about this situation feel free to call me at (352)266-2294
thank you
