Trendnet Another rebate loophole Torrance California
*UPDATE EX-employee responds: TrendNet Uses a 3rd Party to Process Rebates
I bought a WIFI router with a 45 dollar rebate. I carefully filled out all the paperwork and complied with everything. After about three months, when the check hadn't arrived, I contacted the company. They claimed that I had only 90 days from purchase to cash the check. They refused to issue a new check, claiming they weren't responsible for lost checks. I suspect they never issued the original one.
A suggestion - I tape everything, USB etc to a sheet of paper so it cannot get lost. Then I photocopy the page for my records.
This is the first time I've been ripped off on a rebate offer.

#1 UPDATE EX-employee responds
TrendNet Uses a 3rd Party to Process Rebates
AUTHOR: J-mo - (U.S.A.)
SUBMITTED: Monday, December 15, 2008
TrendNet contracted with CPG Promotions Group in Temep, AZ to process their rebates.
CPG filed for bankruptcy on 11/14/08. Anyone who filed a rebate prior to that date and received a check I would advise you not to cash it as it will probably bounce. Rebates received after 11/14 will more then likely not be processed by CPG.
The companies that contracted with CPG paid monies in advance to cover their promotions. These funds were supposed to be place in a "safe" account and used to cover rebates. From reports I've read these funds have disappeared and CPG is telling the companies they need to pony up with more $$$ or they won't process the rebates.
It sucks I know ~ they still owe me for 2 weeks of accounting work (I was an independent contractor). I had to file with the bankruptcy court and get in line with the rest of their creditors. I'm sure I'll never see the funds.
