#4 UPDATE EX-employee responds

rip off

AUTHOR: wizard - (United States of America)

POSTED: Sunday, April 11, 2010

Triple D Supply LLC, (Don R Doak, owner) does not hire truck drivers, they are a broker that uses the owners name. When you work for Don Doak as a partner, they will not issue you a payroll check. The only way you get paid is on your comdata card which is cancelled if you quit. If you have money on the card it is gone period.

If you work for them you will be required to drive ILLEGALLY 150,000 plus miles a year in order to try and keep the revenue up on the truck. Your pay is percentage based on the trucks revenue. Your settlements (pay stub) will run at least 2 weeks behind as the office staff can't be bothered.

What they don't tell you is that Triple D Supply (Broker) double brokers the loads back to you keeping the load pay to around $1.20 per mile so that as a driver you will make 20 % around .24 cents per mile.

No tarp pay, no layover pay. As a partner you are required to maintain the truck without pay. No dead head pay, Pay your own income taxes, pay for worthless health insurance, drug tests, and buy into a truck for $1000.00 that you will never see a dime out of when Don sells the truck.

Don is well known for keeping last checks and any money on the comdata card. If you like driving truck don't want to get home or make a honest living this is the perfect company for you.

Tripple D supply is not a company I would work for

AUTHOR: gunny - (United States of America)

POSTED: Thursday, March 11, 2010

When I worked for Tripple D I was being charged for the fuel for the truck, any repairs that needed  to be done on the truck.  The apu went out on the truck in Florida the temperature in florida was about 120 degrees when it went out.  I called them and they would not give us any money for a hotel room or would not get the apu fixed.  They told me just to deal with it.  The tires on the truck we balding and chuncks missing I was told when the truck comes back to the yard they would be changed, I was back at the yard on several occasions and the tires were never changed and the truck needed an alignment and was never done.  I had a Kansas city DOT look at the truck and he shut the truck down.  I was not paid like I was told that I would be.  I was never told the amount of the load pay so I could figure out what my paycheck was going to be.  I never received my last paycheck.  The truck was stuck at the Kansas city DOT with us for 3 days, and the truck was never fixed. Never got paid for the time that I had to sit there. So I quit and when I did they put and abandonment on my record along with miss use of company funds.

Excellent company to work for!

AUTHOR: J. Finley - (U.S.A.)

I worked for Triple D Supply two different times. First of all, If you do not return the unit to the same location that you picked it up, unless another location is approved by management, then that is Abandonment. No company out there, large or small is perfect. I have worked for alot of different trucking companies, large and small, and Triple D Supply, is the by far, the best company that I have ever worked for. Also, Turbo is 100 % right about the ownership. If you do your job to the best of your ability, and you respect Don and the folks he has employed in Las Cruces, there is nothing that Don wouldn't do for you. But, on the other hand, if you lay around in truckstops when you should be driving, and complain about everything, and can't think for yourself, then you will get what you have given. Thats the same with any company that you drive for. Their income depends on your ability to do what you said you could when they hired you. Your wheels have to roll or they are not making any money. Companies pay you to sit and wait, but they are not making a dime while they pay you for your layover. Sometimes, we as drivers, get layed over because we do not get where we are scheduled to be on time, then we want to blame the company. Time to take responsibility for our own actions. Anyways, based on what you wrote with regards to your time with this company, they may of not had a load ready for you when you were empty and ready to go, I don't know, but I am pretty confident that you are at some fault with some of the layover time and sitting waiting to get loaded. Just would be nice to see a driver take responsibility instead of like most drivers, point fingers to find someone else to blame. By the way, With Triple D or any other company, your not gonna get rich sitting in a driver's seat, but you can make good money as I have and I did with Triple D Supply. But to do that, you need to deliver in the A.M and reload in the P.M. If you are at your delivery point when their doors open, you will get unloaded and give your dispatch plenty of time to reload you before the end of the business day. I have been a driver, dispatcher, terminal manager and company owner. I would work for Don anytime!

I worked there for 1.5 years

I didnt get rich but they treated me pretty good. They kept there word on what they said but when i said i will do something they knew i would do it. yes they had problems like everbody else but when i called in and asked them about it they corrected the mistake. they were the fist small company ive worked for and loved it somecompanies sent you home after you hire on to get your stuff some dont they work it in depending on freight. look at it from there side if you owned a truck and your driver left it some where else other than an approved location its abdoment every company does that. one thing i know for sure Don would not screw somebody. If you treat don with repect he would treat you
