I received this email today, which sounded very good. It was well written and made a lot of sense. It seemed like a very plausible opportunity to earn money legitimately.

I then listened to my skeptic side, and as usual I Googled the opportunity "Typing At Home Online" to learn if any bad things have been reported. I found one note about it on this Website.

What I saw caused me to dig further prior to spending my hard earned cash. I actually copied the website address contained in the other individual's comments, and the web site did appear. Not sure why but an actual site did appear on my screen.

I then clicked each link at the bottom of the page as most websites have (i.e. "Support", "Warranties, Disclaimers & Legal Rights", "Earnings Disclaimer", "Terms of Service", "Privacy Policy".

When I clicked "Support" I was taken to a page that had a phone number on it. I called the number 800-381-7820. I hit a voice message and was on hold for about 5 minutes listening to music. After that someone picked up the phone who had a distinct accent that sounded foreign, but could have been in the US.

I asked the guy some basic questions about the company. Where was he located? He said Los Angeles, CA. I asked if they were registered with the Better Business Bureau? He had a funny answer, "We are in the process". I asked if I wanted to visit their office, what was the address? 1240 Lincolnway East, Massillon, OH? Strange, because he told me he was in LA...

I then asked how does the program actually work. After a great deal of time clarifying my question to him I learned this. Basically, I pay a fee ($98.00) they then give me access to a website and I am enrolled in a type of course. Once I pass the course I receive some type of certificate, which I guess indicates I am capable of typing information into a computer.

Once I receive my "Certification", I am then allowed access to the job board to see what jobs are available with companies that have interest in the typing services. OK so far.

I then asked, "How do I know I Will Get the Job I Want", he said that I must contact the company by phone, and they will tell you what they want done. I asked is there a guarantee to get any job you see. Hi did not say there was a guarantee. Their service only certifies you. It is up to the company to accept you for the job.

I asked how the client companies are learned of by the job site, and he could not tell me. He could not assure me that his certification was even recognized as a valid certificate that a legitimate company would require a person to possess to perform this so-called service.

I then asked, Can you at least tell me a few names of the companies that post jobs on the job board? He could not, or would not. He only said when you pay for the program you get it all in the mail.

So far I have a very sinking feeling that this is a scam. But I still had interest. I then read the remaining links at the bottom of the website. This is what I saw:

Warranties, Disclaimers, & Legal Rights: No guarantee of any income or success at all. Nothing mentioned what-so-ever about the product/service, what it does, or anything. Only that (in paraphrase) We guarantee nothing, beware to lose, enter at your own risk, consult legal counsel.

The kicker, if before 30 days after purchase you don't like the product/service they will refund you your fee at their option. And the funniest/scariest thing I saw was if you have legal action that you want to file against them, you must do so in NICOSIA, CYPRUS not in the United States.

My only guess with that is the real nice homebody lady (Julia Harris) who started this so-called opportunity must be doing so well now, that she incorporated her company in the great country of CYPRUS.

The balance of the remaining links were very similar in nature. No guarantees of any kind, with a shear tone of no promises, refunds at their option, i.e. Good Luck trying.

My recommendation is to steer as far away from this so-called opportunity as you can. CYPRUS, identity theft, possible bad things and people all the way around the other side of the globe are waiting for you if you heed my advice. It's all there online, take a look if you like. VERY RISKY.

Today I was going through my junk email because I had accidently hit spam instead of delete on some messages. I found this one and thought hmmmm looks interesting. I went to the link. Incidently I would get to pay $157 for the program. I might have bit the big one if it had been $89 because my husband and I have this rule that we do not spend over $100 without consulting the other. So I thought until he got home I'd do some checking. My first stop was the BBB.com who had given them an F rating. But that was for one report that had since been resolved and some other information about not knowing how long they've been in business etc and mainly about the type of business (since a lot of the ones like this are scams). I decided forwarned is forearmed but I'd look deeper. That's when I came here. You did such a through job of relating the details. Kudos, hey maybe you should write a small article about it! I wonder if you'd actually get paid! People like you are why people like me thank the stars above! You just saved me money and surely a lot of heartache! Again, Kudos and Thanks!
