I didn't get cancellation notice on time because notice was not sent to me directly, it was sent to a third party; although they had my information.

They kept my downpayment of $450.00. Seats were selling very fast there was 44 days before departure, enough time to re-sell the seats.

They are using AAA Auto club to promote crooked deals. I called because the Auto club was advertising a trip to Kailua-Kona for $349.00 per person, it was more like $503.00 no less.

There cancellation policy is unclear. Overall they are keeping too much of our hard earned money.

Lacks detail - but even the brief bits of info allude to not a UA issue

The ROR is lacking significant detail as to what / how events led up to you filing a report.

Further, the references to AAA and to Pleasant Holidays would seem to allude to a likelyhood that you were negotiating a transaction with a 3rd party - NOT United.

Lastly - some insight - the likely "advertised" price discrepancy is due to the additional of taxes and airport fees, etc - I believe almost all advertising is done this way - ticket is $xx; actual purchase price is $xx plus $xx for fees and taxes. Right or wrong - this is how pricing is advertised...

Not that UA is the best - I have had mostly good experiences, some bad, but often rectified immediately and those that weren't were mitigated with a call to their consumer relations...

Another Confusing ROR

AUTHOR: Karl - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, July 18, 2009

Here is an example of a ROR that is incomplete, doesn't tell a logical story, and doesn't tell potential customers why not to do business with these companies. If you take the time to file a ROR please give a complete report starting at the beginning and explaining why you are unhappy and what the company or companies did that was unethical or illegal. This report is a waste of space.
