A person from UCB, Ft Lauderdal florida, named Jennifer Senatorie called my neighbour and she wanted to Know how she can reach me and when my neighbour asked her how did she get her phone number she said, we have our ways.
My neighbour took her name and phone number and refused to give her any information about me.
This is an invasion of privacy of my neighbour. I can't wait untill I give them a piece of mind on the phone when I get home.

#6 Consumer Suggestion

To the UCB Collector...

AUTHOR: Harrassed - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, December 04, 2008

You say UCB or a collection company can contact anyone to get contact information on a person you are trying to collect on.. well tell me how this is NOT harrassment:

Two weeks ago, I received a phone call from UCB (I have the person's name, and extention) claiming they are trying to contact this person (they did give me the name) and my name came up as a relative. Well, without ever getting confirmation this person was related to me (which this person is NOT a relative of mine), the person on the phone proceeded to tell me the number they were trying to reach this person at, the case number of this "legal matter" and asked me to contact this person and let them know they were trying to get in touch. I again told them I did not know this person, and to please not call my home again.

Well, I get multiple calls DAILY from UCB, they refuse to remove my name and number as a contact for this "relative"

So tell me.. how is this harrassement legal?

I do intend to file a harrassement complaint.

I again called tonight and demanded to a supervisor that they remove my name and number from the computer and was told they cannot as I am a contact they found for this person.

UCB Toothless tigers!

AUTHOR: Fdcpaviolationswinner - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, November 01, 2008

TO UCB EMPLOYEES: I won two out of court settlements pro se this summer for FDCPA violations on my voice mail from your agency. Words like "urgent, legal matter,etc.". Your Compliance Director Jack Klein was less than pleased. To make "implied threats" you cannot carry out is a blatant violation of the FDCPA. To even claim to be "The Legal Department" is a joke. Most of you at UCB have a high school diploma at best and to have the audacity to impersonate a person of "legal authority" is absurd. Us educated consumers with education beyond the HS level and with enough life experience can sniff out scams and scums any day of the week.
To further validate UCB as "toothless tigers", this is their true profile as a 3rd Party Collection Agency. They are under great scrutiny from the FTC and BBB for debtor complaints where their rights under the FDCPA are violated. They have no "Legal or Prelegal" department and are predominately debt contractors of the original creditor or purchasers of fairly recently charged off debt. They make idle threats in violation of FDCPA on a regular basis to your account for 3-6 months before the original creditor yanks the account out of their office. They don't sue debtors. Again, most of these idiots at best have a HS diploma. It's the creditors call on when to sue a debtor. UCB is just a paper mill for the original creditor (OC too lazy to skiptrace) to give debtors in early collections series of idle threats almost daily and the only ones who succumb to their demands are naive and uninformed consumers. In my opinion, don't even bother writing them a debt validation request or cease communications letter. That could actually aggravate the original creditor and expedite a creditor lawsuit.Bait them for 3-6 months into FDCPA suits.Enjoy yourselves! It's the creditors call when to sue you and the fact your charged off debt is with this toothless tiger validates the creditor has no intentions of suing you for the duration of time your account is at UCB. Wait until your account is placed in a REAL LAW FIRM that can sue you with the creditors blessings. Then send a dispute letter in response to the REAL LAW FIRM'S initial dunning letter requiring you to dispute within 30 days by certified mail with return receipt requested.Their chances of validating your dispute is less since it's changed hands a couple of times and getting an itemized breakdown of finance charges, collection fees, etc in an accurate manner is diminished. It amazes me creditors like citibank place their recently charged off credit cards with these hacks. Most of the collectors sound like desperate youngsters recently removed from obtaining their GED or HS diploma and are violating FDCPA regulations left and right because their base pay is marginal and are desperate for bonusing even if it means putting their job in jeopardy and putting UCB in line for litigation.

there are few things

To the original poster -www.budhibbs.com for more information

Harrassing calls are not allowed by collection agencies, and NEVER EVER TALK TO A COLLECTION AGENT except to get a mailing address for them so you can send them Debt Validation letters and Cease Communications letters.

Communicateonly in writing and NEVER EVER give them credit card, debit card or checking account info.

Alot of collection calls are bogus attempts to collect a debt that is no longer collectible -(means they cannot sue you) and they are hoping you do not know YOUR RIGHTS

TO ALL DEBTORS

AUTHOR: Ucbcollector - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, October 08, 2008

harrassment is not defined its an emotions

First of all it is legal for debt collectors to contact associates, neighbors, relatives, who every, to get in touch w/ you long as we don't disclose the nature of the call or any personal information then we'aren't breaking any laws most people make their owe assumptions and it they ask we can't lie
WE USUALLY DON'T GET ANY INFO FROM THE THIRD PARTY BUT IT DOESN'T HURT TO ASK AND AS MY MOM WOULD SAY " A CLOSED MOUTH DON'T GET FEED"

Second we don't like looking for debtor. when you move or change your phone # call the clients you owe the debt to and update your contact information
if thats not the case then answer your phone when we call setup an arrangement to pay back your debt

THIRD why are you mad you owe us money you should be happy that we're taking the time to remind you that you owe a debt IF WE BORROWER money from you and didn't pay you back YOU'LL CALL EVERY NO. YOU COULD THINK OF YOU'LL ALSO TELL ALL MY BUSINESS THEN YOU'LL TAKE ME TO COURT
IF COLLECTION AGENCY DIDN'T EXIST THESE CREDIT CARD COMPANY WOULD CALL YOU A COUPLE OF TIME THEN CHARGE YOU A BUNCH OF INTEREST CHARGES AND LATE FEES W/O LETTING YOU KNOW THEN TAKE YOU TO COURT
AND YOUR OBIGATED TO PAY BECAUSE YOU SIGNED A CONTRACT AGREEING THAT YOU WOULD PAY THE FEES IF YOUR LATE

IT'S NOT THE COLLECTORS THAT ARE RUDE ITS THE DEBTOR THAT ARE RUDE

DEBTORS

AUTHOR: Ucbcollector - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, October 07, 2008

Its legal for us to call neighbors, asscociates, and relatives whoever we have to call to find you. we can't disclose the nature of the call or any of your personal info
and usually we don't get any info but it doesn't hurt to ask " a closed mouth doesn't get feed" and this is my job i have a kid to feed and my self but I'm sure we asked the right questions so your neighbor gave you the message and as you said before I bet you called us finally! so now we got a good contact phone no. for you and you owe us money so WHY ARE YOU MAD I'm sure if I owed you money and you couldn't get in touch w/ me and you had the resources I have you'll be calling them too but you'll probably tell all my business on the messages and your next step would most likely be to take me to court

HARRASSMENT IS NOT DEFINED ITS AN EMOTION

IF YOU DON'T LIKE CREDITORS STOP GETTING ALL THESE CREDIT CARD NOT ABLE TO PAY FOR THEM WHEN YOU MOVE MAKE SURE YOU CALL EVERYONE YOU OWE AND UPDATED YOUR CONTACT PHN NO. AND ADDRESS OR HOW ABOUT ANSWERING YOUR PHONE

why not talk to us what are you scared we'll talk you into paying your bill

Collection agencies can contact anyone asking for contact information only.

They cannot discuss the reason why they are attempting to contact you.
