The "Office of Technology and Special Projects" is by far the worst place I have ever worked. Harassment is nothing new to the University of Missouri. It is a corrupt organization and it's incredible that these issues are constantly overlooked.

Initially, I took the job with "The Office of Technologies and Special Projects" because I was told during the initial job interview with Executive Director Dr. Sharpe and Associate Director Scott Uhlmann that I was filling a NEW poisiton in which the ideal candidate would be handling some clerical duties and additionally, constructing and implementing the department's web page and a departmental database for storing all of their clientel information. I was both qualified and experienced for this job, so it seemed like a dream come true.

Instead, I was decieved in many aspects. I was answering phones and fuelling the boss' car. I should have quit; however, I continued to work as I needed the money while scouting for another job.

In the meantime, I was subjected to work with a "crazy" secretary (and no, I'm not over-exaggerating) named Margie Floyd whose angry outbursts made it unbearable to work. She even admitted to having a hand in getting my predecessor fired over something as petty as saying "Can I help you?" instead of "May I help you" when answering the phones. (Hmm... I thought they said it was a "NEW" position. Now, they're admitting to lying? Now, they can't even keep their stories striaght.)

When, I approached Administrative secretary, Marla Barrett, to confidentially tell her about the problems I was having, the situation only became worse. Margie's outbursts became worse, and suddenly, I was assigned to write up a contract for an associate, something I had never done before.

There were also situations in between in which I found an employee looking through my desk, and towards the end of my employment, someone had wiped the contents of my computer.

Days after I had left that horrendous workplace, I was called by Marla to find out my PIN number for logging onto my computer. They couldn't just leave me alone for the first week that I had left.

In retrospect, I had enough evidence that I could have SUED the company for their bullying behavior; however, I decided to move on and to only warn others about the treatement that I received from this terrible place.

Since I've worked there, there has been a turnover of two employees who have filled my prior job, and I'm sure there will be more.

In conclusion, it's best to avoid the University of Missouri. It's by far the worst place to work.

OTSP, when will they ever learn?
