UPS Store #5536 Mail box service Fort Worth Texas
*Consumer Comment: Obstruction of correspondence 18 US Code 1792
Buyer beware: if you use this UPS store for mailbox rentals and close your box, your mail may be thrown in the trash. They said they would return to sender, but business necer received returned mail. If you forget to pay your bill, they will automatically close your box without notification and will not let you pay to keep the box. The employees would not make arrangements with me to hold my mail for me to pick up until most of my senders were notified.

Obstruction of correspondence 18 US Code 1792

I am just a consumer, so I don't know for sure. You could try to look up the Federal statutes for 18 US Code 1792 Obstruction of Correspondence. I don't see how the mailbox company can throw away your mail. I do see where they may require you to make your payments current (just a guess). For the future, continue payments on your mailbox until you have verified all the mail has been forwarded to your new address. I don't condone what they have done to you at all. I just don't know how a mailbox place can throw away mail. Maybe the Federal statute above can help you further. Or contact your USPS office to see what the ramifications are for the mailbox place. Good luck. I hope you get this resolved.
