USAA and CCC One Ripping off Those It's Supposed to Help Nationwide

Like many veterans, I chose USAA for auto insurance thinking that they would provide a good service at a better price than their competitors. Turns out that I was 100% wrong!

I recently bought a 2013 Nissan Sentra SR, good condition and only 20,000 miles. Of course to protect it, I had it insured through USAA (collision & comprehensive). One month after I purchased it, the vehicle was involved it an accident. Although disappointed, I wasn't worried since I had USAA. I mean, the car was damaged but a new front bumper assembly, 1 headlight, a new hood, and some light fender work and the car would be back on the road. Nope!

USAA has refused to allow a body shop to perform repairs-even at a contracted price of $6,500. Instead they are considering it as a total loss and their settlement offer is several thousand dollars less than the fair market value. CCC One has used whatever shady methods they are known for to provide adjustable comparable values for 2 "comparable vehicles" which aren't comparable at all. According to USAA, they were only able to find 2 cars in the whole country that were like mine to compare it to, but both have almost double the mileage mine had or more. The USAA claims adjuster has never once called me, despite numerous requests I've made via phone and email, to speak to him.

The 2 USAA reps I have spoken to since finding out through the body shop that USAA had totaled my car, give me the run around and are unable to explain eactly how their settlement offer was calculated. The last rep finally relented and emailed me the valuation report that CCC One provided USAA. I ran one of the VIN #s for one of the comparable vehicles and found it definitely is NOT comparable to mine. The other "comparable vehicle" doesn't even list the entire VIN#. I looked both of these vehicles up online since the CCC One report includes the dealership where the "comparable vehicles" were/are for sale. Surprise, surprise-no vehicles matching these!

USAA and CCC One are ripping off veterans and that is about as unpatriotic and unethical as you can get. Buyer beware and do some investigating on these two companies before you wind up getting shafted by them!
