VCI Development Company/ VCI Property Management Company is one in the same, owned by Gary E. Smith. This company owns and manages Via Alamos Apartment in Green Valley and Eastgate Apartments in Tucson, AZ. 

This company hires employees for both properties. Offers a free apartment and utilities while paying them one dollar more than minimum wage. This company also hires illegals as maintenance, paying them only minimum wage. The job has no benefits. After you do whatever repair job they want you do do.....then they let you go and give no reason for letting you go. They simply say you cannot get along with Gary Smith's relative or lover, Stephanie McBride Smith who manages the property. Stephanie has negative reviews about her treatment of tenants and employess posted all over the web. Just read any website of apartment reviews and you will understand that this is a company that you most definitely do not want to work for. 

They offer you the apartment to avoid paying you a fair wage. While you live in the apartment you must lock the laundry room every single night, so you can never leave the property. Then you must check the pool drains every single morning, although no one is allowed to swim in the pool on the week nights or weekends. So you can never leave the property. The other maintenance employees have homes in Nogales. Sonora. Consequently they are not there on the weekend. So you can never leave the property.  Stephanie Mc Bride-Smith has verbally abused and  eventually been responsible for the firing of 4 Maintenance Supervisors in just a year and one half.

Gary Smith lets Stephanie do whatever she wants, so there is no recourse since he owns the property. DO NOT WORK HERE! Once you have the property maintainable they will let you go and let the illegals maintain until they need someone experienced again.
