Hi Everyone,
I am on a quest to warn all those looking to buy a laser pointer. I
recently purchased a laser from VetraLasers.Com. It was a small
purchase of around $110. A week went by and I never heard anything from
them so I decided to sent an email asking about when shipment is
coming. Below is the response I received.............
---------------------------------------
Dear
The Vectralasers Team hopes this email reaches you well!
Please file for a Paypal dispute for the laser devices that you ordered
as soon as possible. Our Paypal account has been hacked and we currently
have no means of refunding your payment.
We already have disabled the Paypal payment system on our website and
are likewise working with the company in order to restore our Paypal
account.
Team Vectralasers would like to apologize for the inconvenience this may
have caused you. Thank you for your patronage and we would like to
assure you that we will be launching a better and more secure payment
system soon.
Thank you.
Regards,
Customer service
---------------------------------------
Now keep in mind I ordered 2 weeks prior to sending them a email, and
this was thier response. I wonder if they would have told me anything
if I never emailed them? Also note thier phone number does not work,
another sign of "scam sites" and they claim to be a Fortune 500 company,
but my order was 00013?
So just wanted to warn everyone I can as I hate to see these types of scum take advantage of people.

Did you check VectraLaser out before you made the purchase? I did a Google search and they seem pretty straightforward. I am sorry to hear that you got used but I really think the problem is with PayPal and not with VectraLaser. This is yet another of PayPals many, MANY screwups. Any company that has tens of thousands of complaints against them deserves to be shut down but somehow these jerks keep going and going.
I will say that no reputable business that I know of uses PayPal because of the scumbag reputation they have. I saw on the VectraLaser site that they take all kinds of credit cards. Did you try using a credit card or getting someone you know to make the purchase for you on a credit card? You could have also asked about COD.
This nonsense you got from VectraLaser about their PayPal site being hacked and having no way to pay you is just that, nonsense. You placed and paid for an order in good faith and you never got your product. Their PayPal site being hacked has nothing to do with it. Do you have a receipt for the pointer? Have you signed for any packages from VectraLaser or can they produce a tracking number? If you have a receipt and you don't have a pointer they owe you a pointer or a refund and PayPal has nothing to do with it. VectraLaser has a bank account, they can right you a check and take it up with PayPal. VectraLaser is giving you a run-a-round big time.
One thing I have done since I never put my credit cards or personal information at risk is to get a pre-paid Visa card. You can add money over the counter at hundreds of stores and you can limit the damage that is done if the card is compromised. With a credit card you have recourse, with PayPal once the money is out of your account you are completely at their mercy and they love stealing from their customers.
If I were you I would take this up with PayPal since is is very likely they are the cause of the problem and you may have to get nasty. If you don't get the answers you are looking for instruct them to put a manager on the line and if you still aren't getting answers have them put another manager on the line and keep going. It is a toll-free telephone number so it costs you nothing to call.
Good luck and let us know how it plays out for you.
