I was looking to rent a home in Las Vegas and found a nice looking place on 7/09/14 for a monthly rent of $895. I contacted Key Property Management and was given the tenant application with the qualifications for rental. I met every requirement except for one. I brougth this to the attention of the realitor who said "It won't be a problem, they will just ask you for more of a security deposit or a month or 2 of advance rent. Or they may not saying anything at all." I was told the most important thing was my income, which I have and a good rental history for the last 3 years. I have a perfect rental history with letters from my last two landlords stating so. I filled out the application online as requested and paid the $50 application fee after being assured I would be accepted. So  I was shocked when I got a phone call on 7/11/14 saying I was denied by "The Owner" for the reason that I was told would be no problem. I went online where I had originally saw the property and they had raised the rent to $925 the same day they turned me down. I told them to give me back my $50 application fee because they lied to me and misrepresented themselves, I was told no it was non-refundable. When I confronted Brian Hartsell the manager he admitted they raised the rent right after turning down my applicatiion. I told him that was very unethical. His response was " We can do whatever we want!"

This is a scam that has been reported on the Las Vegas News. I didn't realized that there is nothing you can do about it once you pay their "fee". How did this industry get us so Twisted. When you go to buy or rent a car or furniture you don't have to pay an "application fee". The company bares the exspence because they want to sell us their products. So why have we as consumers excepted this practice from landlords and property management companies? It has opend the door to let them extort money from those that can afford it the least. I will never pay an "application fee" again. If they want my business they can pay for it. And if they don't then I wouldn't want to do business with them anyway. I don't need Anything that bad.

If you give this company money Beware! If you enter into an agreement with them Double Beware!
