Salesman confirmed EGR was fully serviced at time of sale. After noise issue second dealer found EGR bolts left finger tight. Resulted in loss of use and $500. expense. Contacted dealership customer service, they were condescending and after three weeks did not return calls, or resolve issue with refund.

With the attached screen shot. It should be noted.. the dealership's response to this issue included a copy of my correspondence to the salesman. YES. I remain very happy with the salesman who assisted in this purchase. He did EVERYTHING reasonably expected of him and received positive feedback from me because of it. As shown with the attachment, He even provided in writing confirmation that the EGR valve had been inspected and was in good working order.
With Careful Notice. You will see I did NOT say anything positive about the title clerk, delivery team or dealership customer service representative. That's because there was (and in some cases still is) issues with there support of this vehicle purchase. Now Five Months after vehicle purchase I am still driving with temporary license plates on the vehicle because of (Vernon Auto Group) title clerk errors. Just lucky I live in a state that has a DMV more sympathetic than others.
This matter should remain open. The dealership provided an inexcusable reply.
The fact remains a dealership representative stated in writing that the work had been performed, prior to the sale. At the time this was an acceptable response prior to my vehicle purchase. For the dealership management to suggest the vehicle was sold as is where is, would be wrong. I was purchased with the knowledge that the EGR valve was inspected and cleaned. Only a few short miles after purchase do I learn the workmanship was poor. Rather than take the issue up with the mechanic, the management of Vernon Auto Group decided to drop this issue at the point of least resistance.. the owner. This is Wrong! It should be noted that the repair work was accomplished on a Friday afternoon, when the problem was discovered earlier the same day. Immediate attempts to contact the people at Vernon Auto Group to discuss this issue was in fact made. Unfortunately, they did not return calls until the following Monday morning. Leaving the vehicle in the shop over the weekend, whilst contact was made to Vernon Auto Group would have left me stranded and didn't under any circumstance make sense. Returning the vehicle to Vernon Auto Group for inspection (500+ miles away) would have caused further damage to the engine. copies of documents/correspondence is available for inspection.

Catch 22: If you don't take the vehicle back to the people that did the service or repair poorly the first time you can't (in their eyes) prove anything was wrong. If you can't prove what was wrong they will never pay. There is no way you are going to let those ***** ever touch your expensive Diesel ever again. They win, you Loose.
The only way you might get satisfaction, if not your money back is Small Claims Court. You at least get them stand up and tell the Judge why they should not have to pay.
Costs them a Manager or Lawyer for half a day to justify not paying.
All GOOD FUN.
Good Luck
