This house did pass FHA/HUD inspection, but that does not mean there may not be problems with the house. The mortgage officer and realtor have no say in what passes or doesn't. The purchaser was warned by both individuals that the house needed and a lot of work and it would be in their best interest to walk away from it. They pursued buying it anyway. The mortgage officer and realtor are NOT inspectors and can only do what the customer wants done. In this case, a lot of work was put into finding financing for this individual and finding a house suitable for their price range. Good sense should always prevail on the side of the consumer.
