Around Jan 13th 2003 I went to start my 2001 F150 to leave for work and the truck would not start. I got the truck to Villa Ford around 8AM and explained that I thought the battery was bad because this exact situation had occured with my 97 F150. I also asked that they do an oil change and check this really annoying rattle from under the truck around the converter.

My 97 had the same rattle. Around 2pm Sergio called and said the truck needed a battery and they would also finish the other work before 6PM. At 5:30 I arrived to p/up my truck and turn in the rental car. Sergio approached me and offered to pay for the rental car for another day because they had not finished the oil change or found the rattle. I told Sergio I would bring my truck in on Saturday the 18th and they could change the oil and locate the rattle. Sergio made me an appointment and all was fine.

I should mention the rental car cost me 50.00 because my 14 month old trucks battery went bad. Sergio was great and I had no problems with him. On Sarurday I arrived at 8Am and was greeted by Troy a service writer. I gave Troy my appointment # and told him the truck needed the oil change and the rattle fixed. I left the truck with the dealer and went home. Around 3 in the afetrnoon Troy called and told me the oil was changed and I needed a new converter, they would have to order it.

Troy said I could p/up my truck and they would notify me when the part was in. When I arrived at the dealer to p/up my truck Troy also told me it had a small transmission leak and they would fix that when I brought it back. No problem, Troy was great and I paid my 33.00 for the oil change and left. I received a letter stating my parts were in and I called to arrange an appoitment today.

I spoke to a female in service and told her my parts were in and I would like to make an appointment for Saturday the 8th. She asked what my parts were. I gave her the reference # and told her Troy was my advisor. She put me on hold for about 5 minutes and when she returned told me I could not make an appoitment for Saturday.

She said it takes about 4 hours to install the part and they only have one tech on Saturday. I have already paid once for a rental car and refuse to do it again. It is not my fault they only have one tech on Saturday. I explained that I needed the work done Saturday and I would not rent a car for another day because of the warranty work. I told her if that was the deal I would have to find another Ford dealer to do the work. She said" oh well" and hung up on me.

I spent $25,000 on the truck a little over a year ago. I paid for the first rental car. I paid 33.00 for an oil change when other work needed to be done also. Now because Villa Ford only has one tech on duty they expect me to foot the rental bill and make it easy for them. I am the customer, as I noted I also had a 1997 F150 that had a few problems also.

It is ironic that my wife has had 2 Honda accords in the time I have owned the Fords and we find how the service we receive at Norm Reeves Honda is far superior to what Villa Ford gives us. We get the Honda back washed and the oil changed for free. I don't expect Villa Ford to change my oil for free but I do expect excellent service. Villa Ford has proven to me that my satisfaction is of little concern to them. Troy and Sergio were great and I have no problem with them. What I do have a problem with is some gal who tells me "OH WELL".

Villa Ford didn't mind keeping me at the dealership until 9PM on a Saturday night when I bought the truck. Also if it takes 4 hours to install the new converter then Villa Ford still had 5 hours to work on other cars that Saturday.

Dear Eric,

I know that it has been sometime since your complaint. However I just came across this website and saw your report on Villa Ford. My name is Kyle Sullivan and I am the General Manager at the dealership. I Just wanted to appoligize for any inconvienences that your truck or my service department might have caused you. But, if I could just make one suggestion. If this ever happens to you or anybody for that matter, contact The General Manager. If you would have addressed this with me at the time, the person that hung up on you would no longer be working here. Sorry again for everything.

Villa Ford blew another customer .. Maybe Ford should police it's dealers better

AUTHOR: ERIC - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, May 20, 2003

I had finaly had it with getting my truck fixed. The rattle got worse and the trans started leaking more fluid. They refused to fix the truck on a Saturday.

I finally followed my own advise and traded the truck in. What a shame, a year and a half old truck and I traded it. My second F150 and my last Ford product I will ever buy. I am very happy with my new 03 Accord I bought at Norm Reeves Honda.

How sad that for years I stayed loyal to Ford and now because of Villa Fords refusal to extend customer service that was not beyond expectations Ford has lost a customer forever. Norm Reeves has sold my family 3 cars in 4 years.

They have never dicked me around like the two Ford dealers I dealt with, the first being McPhearson Ford in Tustin. Maybe Ford should police it's dealers better. Is this anti- american? Not even close all 3 of the Hondas were built in the states by American workers.

Why did you buy a Ford again?

AUTHOR: Jimmy - (U.S.A.)

If you experenced problems with a previous Ford and or dealer, why would you go back and buy the same model again? If your wife has had nothing but great results with her Honda dealer, why did you buy the Ford?

In 86 I bought a chevy truck from our local dealer, the truck from the start caused me nothing but trouble and the dealer was not help after the 3 visit. Guess what, I have never been back to that dealer or bought a Chevy truck. (Almost 20 years) I don't give a crap how long its been I will not ever buy from them again...period

I have had several trucks since then and now drive a dodge Ram and the dodge dealer has alway responded to my needs...
