Our credit card statement had a charge neither my husband nor I recognized. We called our credit card company who called VOIPTALK at the number appearing on our credit card statement which was 800-435-8034. I was told that we had been sent a phone card, and that by not sending them a "NO", we agreed to the charge.

I said that this was an unsolicited card, and that if we had received it, it had been thrown away with other junk mail. They said that they would credit the charge of $61.02, and that was done. Our credit card company representative was still on the line, also, and she confirmed the credit.

I asked for their company name, and I was told over the telephone that it was Long Distance, Inc. I asked if they did the billing for any other companies, and the response was "Yes."

When I asked how they had gotten our credit card information, I was told that we must have purchased something electronic and sent in the warranty card with the information. We had not! They claimed that they couldn't find the exact information.

We immediately asked our credit card company to issue new credit cards to us with new numbers. That is being done, and the old account was immediately canceled.

We believe that the only way VOIPTALK could have received our credit card information was from an on-line order we turned in to another vendor for computer supplies. We believe that there is no legal way they could have gained access to our credit card information.
