I called today to have my husbands prescription filled that was faxed to that pharmacy a while a go and I was quite rudely informed that they would not allow us to pick up any prescriptions for anyone in my family because I supposedly owe them $16. In January of '09 I had a RX filled that the Dr. wrote for 3 a day. I have had this for over 2 years and Target, Albertsons have never had a problem with my insurance so suddenly Walmart has this big problem filling the 3 a day that was written and only filled for 2 a day and told me I had to wait 20 days to get the other 10 day supply, which I did and moved on. Then the next month I went to Target to fill the same prescription. When I picked it up, they said Walmart had messed it up and the insurance wouldn't cover it for another 20 days so I explained the situation from last month and the pharmacist from Target had to call Walmart and sit on hold for 45 min. then she walked them through how to fix it and the insurance covered it with no problem for the full month. Now, in March, I called to have my husbands prescription filled because his Dr.'s office called it into Walmart. I was told that they would not fill any prescriptions for anyone in my family because I owed them some sort of $16 rebill and when I asked her to explain what that was about, she just talked in circles and blew me off. In the meantime I have to wait for my Dr or insurance to fix this due to financial difficulties at this time in our lives. Is thia even legal?

WalMart Pharmacies is differ than Target

I have use Target Pharmacies for years and never, never had any problem. One day, the Target Pharmacies ran out of prescription pills that night and Target call WalMart for two day pills (four pills). WalMart had only 10 pills left in their package and want to deposit whole thing, not just 4 pills. Note: single pill cost $2.50 each at Target, WalMart want $3.75. We drop WalMart and call CVS. Got 4 pills from CVS for only $11.00.
I only shop WalMart if any items not available at any other store. I don't buy electronic at WalMart, I use at Best Buy.
Stop using WalMart Pharmacies. Find another Pharmacies. Maybe go back to Target.
p.s. Check with all Doctor and tell them your new Pharmacies address.

Responsibility

This does not appear to be the fault of either the pharmacy or pharmacist. You need to check with your insurance company prior to filling or refilling all new/changed prescriptions. It is your responsibility to check these things prior to filling your Rx. Many people "want it now" and then pay in the end because they did not follow the policies required by insurance. Be active in your healthcare. Don't blame someone without due cause. Pharmacies are there to help people.

WalMart miscount or misread or mistype?

I had one time try at WalMart and the service was a wack. I now use Target over 6 years and never had any problem. If Target make it wrong, they will fix it right. Oh yet the Target people alway give me the great service.
You are right and Target did got your record but can not make change unless Wal-Mart fix it. I would go ahead start fresh using Target. Don't forget to let your doctor know where your new refill will be. Good Luck
