The knee brace at Walgreen's had a little sign under it saying "50% Off". When I checked out I learned it was not discounted because I did not have a Rewards Card. Thus, I paid twice as much for the item. I was punished to the tune of about $8 for not having a Rewards Card. This doesn't sound like a good way to treat customers and I'll never shop there again.

Get a Rewards card

That's the idea with the Rewards card.  If you get one you get some special deals now and then.  Many stores do this kind of promotion.
