#1 UPDATE EX-employee responds
Wal-Mart Douglas tires
AUTHOR: Jay - (U.S.A.)
SUBMITTED: Tuesday, May 23, 2006
I have installed and inspected thousands of douglas tires while working as a technician at a southern wal-mart. They are cheap tires! Cheap tires are made in a more "cost effective" manner than the other, high end brands even though the cheap tire "names" are owned and manufactured by the big name manufacturers. When the tires didn't balance the technician should have looked to see if the tires were out of round or had some bead damage. The latter is common in the douglas tires especially the smaller sizes like your 195's. Another explanation is that the belts may have been damaged or misaligned when the tire was being made. My suggestion, purchase the uniroyal A/S next time. They're only a few cents more, and they have a higher milage warranty.
