Me and my girlfriend decided to get a big screen together as a christmas gift to one another. We visited our local lima walmart and couldn't believe the great price they had on a Philips 50 inch Dlp high def tv(only 799 roll back from 899). Unfortunately the only one they had left in stock was the display model which looked like a five year old took a buck knife to it. they told us the store in wapak had three left and we should try there. So thats what we did its only about fifteen minutes away.when we got there they had three left but they wanted 899.00 rolled back from 1249.00. and told us they wouldn't match their own prices even though they sent us there. so we tried findley another 30 miles away...guess what 1349 bucks.what the hell. after that we tried sams club that had a really nice samsung dlp 50 in (818.00). they let me pay for that one before telling me that they were all out except the floor model. uhhh then why did you let me buy it? They said they could peobably nock some of the price off if i wanted the one that had been sitting there for two weeks running non stop with snot nosed brats playing with every function. so i waited for a half hour for a response from the "manager" finally a foul manered thing sauntered up and said they wouldnt take a dime off . so we got in line at customer service and after a half hour of the incompatant employees standing around doing the chicken dance i got my money back......seriously they were standing around doin the chicken dance and were not happy to help ......screw you wal mart...please respond

#2 UPDATE EX-employee responds

Walmart TV

I used to work for walmart in the photo center, connection center and in the electronics department. I can tell you that sometimes certain stores will mark a product down but other stores are not required to do so. These are called In-Store Sales. So technically there can be major price differences on some items. This doesn't happen often, normally when a department manager just wants to get rid of excess items they have in stock or to make room for a new product to fit on the shelf. Plus, they don't have to take any money off of a display item. Some department managers do but its really up to them. This is what I would do, call the Distract Manager of both stores (this could possibly be the same person depending on how close the stores were). Tell them that you were told by the employees at the first store to go to the second walmart to find your item. When you got there the prices were different. Now here is what you should remember. The first store is the one at fault because they are the ones who gave you false and incorrect information. Tell them you want a TV for the price you were told. If the distract manager doesn't help you then call the regional manager. I can promise that if you call enough, eventually someone will get in trouble for not making customers happy and something will be done. You should also call the headquarters located in Arkansas and complain as many times as necessary. Don't see the Walmart as one big store. See each department as its own individual store and deal only with the people tied to that department.

I also was victim of price differences between the Walmart Stores

I was also a victim of price differences between walmart stores in the Same Town !!

Purchased a car battery at the walmart in Findlay, Ohio on Trention Avenue, their newest location in Findlay.

Paid $68

A few days after that I was at the Tiffin Avenue Findlay Walmart location, and just looking around I looked at the batterys and seen they were $6 cheaper than the Trenton Avenue location

After talking to people at both locations they all told me that Walmart does not honor price differences between their own stores.

I know it was only $6 difference but it is the point of how Walmart is allowed to rip consumers off and get away with it.

Hopefully enough people will post complaints on this website about Walmart and their price differences and maybe Walmart will wake up and charge one price at all the stores for the same item and not different price at each store!!

Walmart is a rip off !

Do you homework and do not shop at any Walmart.
