We hired them to install a trench. They quoted $3K, and they requested a $1K deposit, but when they arrived to do the work, after rescheduling four times, they realized that they couldn't perform it.

They uplifted many pavers on my patio, and I have to have the polymeric sand and base reinstalled now, and they refused to return the deposit. This is apparently a scam that contractors try to perpetrate.

We are in the process of suing them now.
