In Sept 2013 a moose came running across the high way it was dark 6-6:30am I just caught the mosse running onto the highway slammed on my brakes going 100kms left 20' of rubber hitting the back end of it ran over its back leg but it still took off into the bush. I got out looked around the truck couldn't see much damage started driving the truck it was a bit shakey so I called the insurance company right away I have full coverage. went to work for the day at the end of the day had a better look at it and took it to a body shop they looked at it they took the job on and I told them I don't fell safe in this after hitting the moose. the truck looked like it may have frame damage but also was concerned about other hidden damages. was told it was up on the hoist measured the frame and looked it over and was told tires needed replacing and a alignment that was it oh and the bumper had to be buffed..

Three weeks I waited I had a bad felling about this now so anyways drove it a week later the steering was pulling and shaking it was to late to do anything. I live out in the country and needed to get to work as well as school which is 4hrs a day of drive only had the truck back for 2months less then driving to school cold and snowing and very icey so I put it into 4x4 hi driving 70-80kms on a 100km high way it was miserable .out hafe way to school I smelt something burning so I was trying to pull over where it was safe to do so as I aproched a intersection I was going to pull off the high way just as I hit the intersection and went to brake the front end locked up on me so needless to say I went straight into the ditch started going sideways almost rolling the truck but got it going straight again was trying to get out of the ditch just shaking being scared and mad but the truck was only going side ways. I stopped go out looked the motor was smoking and their was a bit of smoke inside the truck it wasn't on fire but oil from the front diferanchal spayed onto the motor but the front end had seized up for some reason and snapped my drive shaft going into the dif .Cops and Fire showed up after calling them they said I was very lucky. had it towed to a shop in town.

now the insurance towed it to the big City 1.5-2hrs away the appraiser said 1200.00 in body damage I asked what about the bottom front end he was like what I said yeah the hole front end is shot. well humm I will have to get back to you on that .I told him this along time ago two weeks ago this happened then he said we if it was a wire or not maintaing your maintenance you will have to cover the front end I told him again 2 months ago I hit a moose .your company said that it was safe to drive. I had a bad felling so I wouldn't even drive my kids around in it and its a really good thing to but any how I fell like I am getting the run around now and after reading others reports I am not sure what to do. have the truck towed to a different shop left them investigate what and why this happend its a 2006 Dakota and hitting and driving over a moose's back leg and slamming on the brakes that is all the truck would of needed two tires and a wheel alignmen.t man am I mad right now 2-3000 for a front end that they should of fixed properly or took the thing of the road in the first place .I just about got killed and if I went the other way into on coming traffic then what lucky no traffic was coming and I was the only person in the truck. I really don't want that thing back now knowing them they will ether low ball me on a price or try and rebuilt that and try giving it back to me for the second time .I told my wife they give it back to me and I kill myself in it your during the b**** of them got it dam death trap and they don't care. maybe they should keep it as a company ride and let one of them know what its like to see life flash before your eyes and maybe never come home to your family again. I pay for a serves and this is what I get in return .sorry starting to get mad better end this now
