We were charged a penalty of 9.86 for a 6 dollar error on payment of our electric bill. The bill was paid. However a mistake was made in figuring the bill that put me paying 6 dollars less. This company sent me a notice informing me of that and penalizing me for more than 100% the cost of the error. This is ridiculous to charge anyone who makes a mathematical error a fee of nearly 10 dollars. Besides the fact that the fee they charged is more then what was owed due to this error.
