Weil-McLain Weil-McLain Furnaces / Boilers are pieces of CRAP!! Save your $$ Michigan City, Indiana Nationwide
*UPDATE Employee: W-M Response
I am writing to let everyone know that WEIL-McLAIN Furnace / Boilers are Pieces of JUNK!!
I purchased for $4000 a new Boiler made by WEIL-McLAIN 5 years ago and it has broke down year after year, usually on the coldest day of the year!
This year was no exception, at 3am on Saturday 1 -7-2017 the furnace once again went out, it was 63 degrees and falling in my home!
When my plumber notified the Warranty Co for WEIL-McLAIN they were told .."so sorry, you have to buy a new furnace or pay $1600 for new parts!
This is a crime and I feel that someone other than me should be held accountable!!
Words to the Wise, NEVER BUY A WEIL - McLAIN FURNACE OR BOILER!! POS!!!

AUTHOR: Weil-McLain Warranty Manager - (USA)
SUBMITTED: Wednesday, January 18, 2017
We’re sorry to hear about your experience. Based on a review of our records, it appears a claim was called into Weil-McLain’s warranty department on 9 January 2017 by your contractor. Based on the pictures of the failure that were provided, we observed a crack located on the crown sheet portion of the cast iron heat exchanger. These types of cracks typically develop when sludge or minerals in the heating system water accumulate and build up in the lower waterway, which leads to overheating and eventually cracking of the cast iron. If you have additional information that contradicts these findings, Weil-McLain would be willing to have the section assembly returned to our facility and perform a cross section analysis. If, upon completion of this analysis, it is determined that there was in fact a defect in materials and workmanship with the boiler that caused the crack, we would approve the warranty claim.
