Westwood College Unaccredited- A RIP OFF Woodridge, Illinois
*Consumer Comment: SOL
Hello,
I went to Westwood College, of Dupage in Woodridge IL in 2009. At the time of enrolling they said that they had all the accedidations and that they are a great school. Upon going to class, a teacher started letting people know that the school was not accreidted and that he knows of students that have attented years prior, with degrees that couldnt find work, transfer credits etc.. I only attended the school for 2-3 months and i withdrew and got charged 10,000 for that little amount of time. i want these fixed and i want to live my life without worrying abut defaulting for a school that i ended up with getting nothing out of but a head ache. PLEASE SOMEONE HELP.
Thanks.

I'm afraid you're out of luck. The school was accredited when you attended or you would not have been able to get student loans. If you're having trouble making your payments contact the lender and work something out. Defaulting on student loans is a pain because the government can take your tax refund.
Your post serves as a valuable warning to other potential students. Watch out for the online schools! They are WAY more expensive than your local community or state college, which also offers online programs.
