Telecom Service Bureau located in Ocala, Florida owes me money!

I am a small, woman owned and operated business located in Orlando, FL. I have $40,000 in dispute with Telecom Service Bureau and I need the community's help. Telecom Service Bureau operates programs called Wireless for Hope and Affordable Wireless (along with several others) with funds provided in part by the government. Long story short, they get paid $10 a month by USAC ($120 a year) for their service. My business was hired to market and distribute re-furbished phones on Telecom Service Bureau's behalf. We were offered a ONE-TIME $3 per phone which we accepted. Keep in mind Telecom Service Bureau would be getting $120 per phone over a period of 1 year. Even at a measly $3 per phone Telecom Service Bureau owes us $40,000. I have discussed settling this matter for $20,000 DIRECTLY with owner of Telecom Service Bureau and their attorney but, after several promises of payments we have yet to see a penny.

Since Telecom Service Bureau is a local business I need your help. This debt has caused me many sleepless nights. I paid my contractors/workers despite Telecom's failure to pay me. I HONORED MY OBLIGATIONS TO MY STAFF. This debt has caused me to lose my whole life savings. I would appreciate any government agency or legal help. I FEEL COMPLETELY RIPPED OFF BY TELECOM SERVICE BUREAU! Right now, USAC and the FCC Inspector General are investigating.

Telecom Service Bureau, Wireless for Hope, Affordable Wireless and Easy Phone Service are represented by:

Jose H. Cortes, Jr.
BLANCHARD, MERRIAM, ADEL & KIRKLAND, P.A.
4 Southeast Broadway Street
Ocala, Florida  34471
Ocala, Florida  34478
(352) 732-7218 (PH)

Telecom Service Bureau along with their attorney, Mr. Cortes are even denying a contract exists between us and their client. REALLY?! We received two payments issued by their client of $20,000 each of the total $60,000 owed accordingly to our payment timetable. NOW, THERE IS A $40,000 BALANCE.

At this point, I feel like Telecom Service Bureau (Wireless for Hope) stole my money and Blanchard, Merriam, Adel and Kirkland, P.A. supplied the get-a-away car.

I work directly with this company and you are only a subcontractor but I deal with all the customers that have been taken advantage of by this company so I think you are the outsider and have no idea what really goes on with thsi company...There also have been serveral subcontractors calling that have not been paid for thier work so it you were one that was paid you are the lucky one but one day it the future it will be you on that side of not being paid....so until you know the true inside story maybe you should consider the people who have been taken advantage off...The company is now being investigated by the FCC, Better Business Bureau, EAP for employee discremination...and several other government organizations...So unless you want to be called to testify and then made a fool of when you are one of the ones who don't get paid due them not having the money or the government shut down for fraud maybe you should thank god you are one of the lucky ones for now...Your day is coming....Several other subcontractors have made the same comments that you have to find out a few months later that they were wrong when they did not get paid the money they were owed...So maybe you should think about that before you go off on only half of the information and do a little investigating before you defend a company....Just remember subcontractors are only told what the big bosses want you to know...You don't really know the inside and outside of all the devious deeds this company does and will get caught one day they always do...

Company that ripoffs low income families

AUTHOR: former employee - (United States of America)

POSTED: Monday, February 27, 2012

I am going to remain anoymous about this but as a former employee of this company everyone should know this company also owns several other low income phone companies....And with the wireless service since I worked for that department i have inside knowledge on how they take advantage of thier customers....They do give them a phone but have sent the phones to wrong customers and some customers have not gotten their phones at all....if you run out of minutes they require you to purchase minutes they will not allow western union or money gram payments on credit card payment with their reps....They do lifeline certifications but somehow they continue to get lost and when the customers are unaware of the problem they get their phone shut off and will not reup the minutes without the forms even though they were filled out at the events....They have one particular company they owned that they lost contracts on due to scamming customers and switching phone service without the customers permission and were fined by the government for this practice in the amount of 55,000.00 if not more now.....The owner hides behind his desk and when he gets mad he comes down stairs and screams the f bomb to all his employees but he is the cause of the problems....If you voice your opinon they say they are laying you off for ecomomic downsizing the go back a few months later and rehire people off unemployment and on government assistance to get credits from the government....They then have one person in HR who notifies unemployment that you have been rehired even though you have not.....Which causes serious concequences for that ex employee but they don't care....They just want that tax credit....If there is a problem with the cell phone they tell the customer they are aware of the situation and are trying to reqtify the situation which the real thing they do is say that to the customer but then do nothing to fix the issue in the 1st place...They just keep telling there reps to lie to the customers that they are getting the problem fixed but never do.....They say they are helping low income families but they are only in it for the money they make off the government...So before you deal with company make sure you know all the facts because they will lie to you and say they are working on it and never have a solution.....Maybe the government will stop allowing this company to have this option and shut them down like they know they should.....But doubt it will ever happen they will continue because the owner lies and sucks up for the press that he has been given which is all a lie.....

I'm AFRAID for my SAFETY - Wireless for Hope Disaster

AUTHOR: AfraidForMySafety - (USA)

POSTED: Saturday, February 11, 2012

Geoff,

From my direct dealings with Telecom Service Bureau they come off as a mob-like family business. In my communication with government agencies I have also been advised to "be careful" as they sort of companies often become aggressive and "dangerous" when they refuse to pay their vendors. I am opting to be public with my complaint in hopes that the more people that know it will expose these scam artists. If anything were to happen to me or my immediate family I ask that Telecom Service Bureau and their affiliates be closely investigated. I do believe that when push comes to shove and they are court ordered to pay the $40,000 they owe me harm may come my way. I'm extremely determined and have expressed this to their attorney as recently as today. I've offered to accept $20,000; HALF of what is rightfully mine and still they refuse to compromise. Moreover,  I refuse to back down because I worked extremely hard for that money. My home is being FORECLOSED. I'm two months behind on my car payment and I can barely afford the necessities. If I let this go then, it will just likely happen to someone else.

In my dealings with USAC, FCC and state utilities commissions I've been candid and open with my name and contact information. It serves no purpose on this forum. Just as I have NOT called on Telecom's owner's out by name I would appreciate the same courtesy. Anyone with further interest can conduct their own research and review court documentation for more specifics. I welcome any free legal assistance and media to contact me. Telecom Service Bureau should know until my last breath I will continue to attempt to collect the money they owe me.

You have opted to use your name and that's your choice. It's not mine at least not on this forum.

Telecom Service Bureau - Wireless for Hope | SCAM: Don't be fooled! Read consumer complaints now...

AUTHOR: pulltheplugonobamaphones - (United States of America)

POSTED: Sunday, February 05, 2012

Geoff,

Telecom Service Bureau seems like one multi-level marketing SCAM to me.  Out of curiousity, I did some digging and found multiple complaints. Telecom Service Bureau seems to operate under a variety of names. The so-called vendors are all connected to one another. The principal owner of Telecom seems to have a finger in all pies

Wireless for Hope SCAM in NOLA

AUTHOR: pulltheplugonobamaphones - (United States of America)

POSTED: Tuesday, January 17, 2012

Telecom Service Bureau seems to operate a clearinghouse for small time so called free cell phone providers like Wireless for Hope. It is a FOR PROFIT COMPANY that fails to pay workers. Right now they have "thousands of consumer applications in limbo" because they don't want to pay $40,000 they owe. I did some research and they were denied distribution in 2 states. Also, there are some other states being tapped to push them out!

Look at the mentality we are deaing with here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kyNPhEdw5yc

I urge anyone considering Wireless for Hope to do their own research and come to their own conclusions. As for me, I consider these people rats!

D.C. Taylor. It's easy to make those comments when you don't have any "skin in the game". All I was suggesting was that unsubstantiated claims just make it harder for legitimate companies to do business. I could make wild claims about you without backing up anything on this web site with impunity. Why not wait until the disagreement is resolved and then make your claim with irrefutable facts. Seems that approach would do more to make the public aware of any misconduct on the part of the guilty party. You know, innocent until proven guilty. How do you know if its even true?

Wireless for Hope USAC & FCC investigation for fraud

AUTHOR: DCTaylor - (United States of America)

POSTED: Friday, January 06, 2012

Geoff,

I think it's admirable that you're willing to stand-up publicly for your employer. However, it's wrong for you to attack another contractor like yourself in the process. You have every right to express approval with y-o-u-r business relationship with Wireless for Hope. Yet, unless you were a direct party to the "wronged" woman's contract then, casting aspersions just makes you and Wireless for Hope look worse. Perhaps the reason you've enjoyed such a smooth business transaction with Wireless for Hope (Telecom Service Bureau) is because they're on guard. Your employer is probably just giving you their side of the story only; keeping you on a need to know basis. How else would they get anyone to work for them as a contractor if they're skipping out on a $40,000 invoice? Think about it!

If you're truly concerned about this post appearing on search engines then, here are a few suggestions:

  • Contact the other party and work out an amicable resolution.

  • Stop updating Rip-Off Report. It actually ranks it higher in search engines.

  • Create a more favorable image for your client without attacking anyone else.

Personally, I'm not a fan of these free phone services. I think people abuse the priviledge on all levels. Your company makes it seem like they are a non-profit when in fact these programs are for profit. Legit programs I'm aware of are provided by: Virgin Mobile, Verizon and AT&T. Potential consumers should contact www.usac.org and www.FCC.gov to investigate ANY provider they're considering.

Finally, I would just suggest to stay out of it until the issues are resolved. If in fact it turns out that Wireless for Hope is proven to be scammers then, you're going to be lumped right in with them and lose credibility. I wouldn't attack the other party for choosing to stay anonymous. It could be a safety issue with kids, family, etc. Rip-Off Report actually suggests anonymity for this reason.

I wish all parties the best of luck!

Sub-contractor for Wireless For Hope

AUTHOR: Anonymous - (United States of America)

POSTED: Thursday, January 05, 2012

I find it interesting that the person who has been "wronged" by Telecom is anonymous and has not verified even one complaint . For those of us who have enjoyed our relationship with Wireless For Hope and rely on them for our livelihood, this type of unsubstantiated reporting seriously hinders the efforts that legitimate business people undertake to efficiently and professionally market our product.

When prospective clients read these wildly generalized statements from anonymous sources, it makes our marketing staffs' job much more difficult. The ability to secure locations in an  unfamiliar city, to deliver free cell phones to needy people, is often hampered, when the prospective location owner researches the internet to determine the integrity of our company only to find defamatory and unsupported claims made by an unhappy sub-contractor.

Telecom, who has been vilified by the above tirade, has always been a professional company with which to work. They have always delivered on their promises and have given us no reason about which to be worried. We will continue to conduct business with Telecom and provide this free cell phone service through the auspices of "Wireless For Hope" even though the above comments will make it more difficult.
