I signed up for classmates.com and paid the membership using my credit card and now I have been charged 3 times for $7.00 in less than 60 days for something I never agreed to. The charges are for WLI Resevations/WLI Travel Value Plus. I remember something about membership rewards and savings on travel but never agreed to paying an extra fee!!!!!!!! I am going to my bank and try and cancel this charge ASAP. What a rip off.

Classmates.com does rip people off

AUTHOR: Terry - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, December 05, 2003

When I purchased a subscription to classmates.com a couple of years ago, I was ripped off by a magazine company. When I complained about it to classmates.com, they said that they had no idea that a company that they were associated with were fraudulant and they would investigate and make sure it doesn't happen in the future. Looks like they have hooked up with more crooks since then. They did mention that the contract they have you agree to lets them give your information to their business partners. Gotta read the small print I guess. My best advise is to not renew your membership and tell everybody you know what has happened to you and heve them spread the word. Even though they seem to be an upstanding kind of company they sure don't mind selling our information (including our credit card numbers) to companies that have no problem ripping us off.

They were a much better service before they made people pay for subscriptions anyway. Unfortunately, little by little, they have taken away what you can and can't see without paying for a membership. They must be making money hand over fist with all the pop-ups, regular site ads, "business" partners, selling our information, their television show, PLUS all the fees we pay them.
