I work for Discover Card...first of all the reason we ask "your family secrets" is b/c someone could rip off your ss#, dob and mmn anytime they want...so asking those 3 questions when you call in we are hoping if its not you the perp will slip up and say the wrong info...if you have a company dealing w/ your personal info and money and not asking those questions those are the people you need to really be worried about. YOURSAVINGSCLUB was probably added onto your account from a airline ticket hotel room or travel purchase you made in the 6-8 months prior to them charging you.... happens all the time.. when you give your credit card info out it is a auth for that company to charge whatever they want...a lot of ppl order stuff online and dont realize there is a little box in that page that is check marked signing you up for that...but if we refused it and cardmembers really wanted it wed be flooded w/ calls b/c of declined transactions.... on accual fraudulant charges... thats where Discover cards $0 Fraud Liability Guarentee comes into play...we will dispute it for you if you cant get ahold of them... but you must try first.
