I received a check for nearly 3 thousand dollars saying I had won some lotto. When I checked it out on the internet I found others had been scammed by this company.

Why is this happening? How do we stop it. I also contacted the company the fake check was drawn off and let them know. If you get a check like this please let the company know as well.
