If you are using HRS to obtain furniture fast, you are better off sitting on the floor, or getting a TV tray. I've read all the other complaints, and I have the same ones, but I noticed a couple of people stating that they recieved $29 late fees; mine was $35 on 9/4/2002. Did they raise it from the already ludicrous$29.

In addition to ALL the other atrocities,to those who haven't paid something on your No Interest,No Payment account, and your balance is within a few dollars from your credit limit, pay something NOW! I had forgotten about my account(my MISTAKE)and when it was time for my first payment, they aready charged me a late fee that put me over my credit limit. Not a good start!! Not good for your credit report!

I've made a point that I'm a little forgetful(not their fault), but another reminder - there is NO grace period, and if you remember your payment a couple of days before its due; and you want to pay by phone to avoid a late fee, it's $10.00.

They will rip you off ANY and EVERY way they can!!!!

#1 Consumer Suggestion

suggestions, i had my ordeal with them as well

I wasn't too bright, so I caugh on their games a little late; regardless of how early the payments were send, i would find a late charge on the following month's statement.

Paying over the phone would avoid the $30ish charge since they only charge $10 to take payment over the phone.

Being cheap and poor as I am, I started play their game and telling them that the statements have not been getting to me a couple of days before the due date.

Since I don't have a statement, I can't make payment. Even if I mail it out, it would be late due to no fault of my own. So i would ask them to take a note and waive the late charge. I would also tell them agree to that if a late charge on the bill, i can just call back to have it fixed.
Am I bad for doing that? I think they charged me more on the late fees then the 12 months of 0% rate would save me!

If the lowly operator can't do as you, the customer, requests, just ask for his/her supervisor. If they wanna make us miserable, we might as well keep them busy.
