Its not just the actual car owner's being ripped off! I took possession of a vehical 26 months ago and realize I was a complete blessing to the actual owner of this vehicle!

I kept and maintained the vehical in excellent condition. The milage was kept below allowed mileage, no accident claims had been made, and I had vested interest of $17,208(25 payments,)$2800 down to take possession of vehical, and paid 2004 and 2005 tags and registration. Plus insurance premium's and maintenance kept on vehical.

During the last 2 years I have cleaned up my credit and just purchased a new home. During the closing of my new home my assets were held until closing and knew I was going to fall behind on this particular payment.

The US AUTO MANAGEMENT near me was no longer in business? All numbers of contacts I had were no longer correct and the owner of the vehical did not have phone publication listed who's home address was an hour and half across town from where I lived... I even paid for a people search to try to find a listed phone number that came back all unlisted!

My mishap was thinking someone would contact me. I closed on my house on 1/23 and complete a postal change of address on 1/24 and in the morning of the 26th the vehical was taken from my driveway. I made the decission to drive an hour and half to the owner's address to see if I could make contact with someone and had to leave letter with concern that vehical may have been stolen?

The owner made contact later that day and made it clear to me he was waiting for a mishap and wanted vehical back. MY ONLY REQUEST WAS FOR MY OWN PERSONAL PROPERTY BACK! He laughed... he had scored BIG... not only was he getting his vehical back in great condition not to mention about 50% of his financing I had paid but he wants to keep custom tires and wheels $3200 plus ski rack, etc. all that I paid for and have receipts for!

His tires and wheels are nicely wrapped in plastic and stacked in my garage in the same original condition as when I took possession of the vehical. He refuses to make the trade and has ZERO respect for the fact I took such good care of the vehical. I AM SO SICK OVER THIS AND CAN NOT BELIEVE HE WOULD WISH FOR SUCH BAD KARMA, and not be willing or want to do the right thing!

The whole thing could have been avoided with some communication and the new company who took over for US AUTO MANAGEMENT Agreement has never contacted me or tried to update me with new information.

Victoria...Here's some great options

Victoria,

Go to the Dealer's services side of the DMV and get the info on who bonds the dealers license.

File a complaint while you are at the DMV/Dealer's services office, and then file a claim against the dealers bond for your entire losses.

Also the Consumer Affairs Division of the Attorney Generals Office needs to get a complaint filed on them. The AZ Atty Gen is tough on car dealers if you can truly document a fraud.

File a lien on the title!

Show up and see if the car is on the lot and stick your key in and go!

There are a lot of options here, but do not let them get away with it.

I would personally key every paint job and poke every sidewall of every tire on the lot if they did that crap to me.

You need to play dirty and play for keeps when dealing with scumbags like this.

I put a big car dealer out of business this way in E. Mesa/ Apache Junction in 1988. He only screwed me for $680!

File on that bond today! It is quick and easy, and then the sh*t hits the fan against his license!

Good luck!

Your not the only one....

Victoria -

I here your anger about US Auto Management, they are the worlds worst company.. I have 2 of my vehicles that are missing and numerous creditors wanting the cars back.. of which I dont know their location...

Which store did you deal with. I know that Rob Allen of US Auto in Phoenix (the one one Cave Creek) as well as many others are being pursued by the AZ Attorney General....

Rob Allen has attorney his name is Peter Devries of Blumberg and Associates in Phoenix.

Hope that helps..

I have a default judgment of $43,000 approx against US Auto, and now am working on a summary judgement against him as well.

Some suggestions for you.

Victoria,

I know this whole situation with US Auto Mgt is kinda screwy, but at a minimum, here is what I would do:

Report the car stolen to Gilbert PD. They have to file a report. You also seem to have receipts and such to at least prove some of the property (rims/tires/ski rack) are yours.

If you made payments directly to the lien holder of the vehicle, you may have legal right to the entire vehicle, depending on how the paperwork was written up at UAM. But then again, this whole scheme seemed to be illegal, so I don't know where that will get you.

If you made payents directly to UAM, then you may not get anything back at all.

Good luck to you.
