I signed up at the Tampa Bally's, I used it for 3 days, then had to move to Minnesota. Within 1 week of signing contract (contract said if I moved more than 30 miles from the TAMPA club, I could cancel) I asked this multiple times because I had not decided if I would stay in FL or go back to MN. I sent them everything they asked for to cancel. They did cancel and instead reported me to the collection agency. They want $3600. Not going to happen.

Also, my friend said she was going to sign up and I told her not to because they would screw her over. She did anyways. Needless to say, they screwed her over too and would not let her end her contract after her one year was up.

Also, I used to go to a women's support group. We talked about finances one day, out of 11 women in the group, 9 had a problem with Bally's.

I am so sick of the idiot employees on here writing rebuttals. Obviously, they have never signed up for a Bally's contract themselves AND I really doubt if this many complaints against one company is because none of us did what the contract said we had to do AND I am really sure we are all lying about the dishonesty of this company and it's employees.

Ball contracts are not that difficult to read and comprehend

AUTHOR: Faron - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, March 16, 2008

and before you shoot off your mouth that I DON'T know what I am talking about, I have been a faithful Bally member for 14 years. I do NOT believe that YOUR contract states happens to state that if you are not located within 30 miles of the facility you signed up in that they would refund your money. Their contracts aren't written like that in specifics, but nice try. Stop lying and get someone to read your contract if you're that uncapable.

The 9 of the 11 of the women who complained are those people the regular members hate to see because typically at the first of the year everyone wants to get fit because of a New Year's resolution. So they sign up for fitness contract, it doesn't have to necessarily be Bally's, it could be any club. Then after about 2-3 weeks, they don't see the results, they get bored with it or thy don't commit because it does take that dedication to see results. Fortunately for the regular members, these quitters stop going and the club is again not crowded in February.
That should prove I am not an idiot employee like you state in your OP.

It is almost a virtual impossibility to get out of these fitness contracts and that's why they write them the way they do and stay in business to serve us DEDICATED customers. So these people who cannot commit will do everything they can to get out of the contract, which is almost impossible to do.

I am not buying for one minute that you didn't know you would be moving. Hogwash! Furthermore that's seems really a really stupid idea to join a club, given the fact you would be moving.

Sorry lady, I DON'T feel your pain!
