True, let the "Buyer Beware" when dealing with Century Communities. I wish I had read the consumer reviews before I signed a contract for a recent home purchase in Terrain Mesa, a community in Castle Rock, CO. You can also tell a lot about a company by reading the reviews from their current and former employees. I encourage you to do so. I do believe this company must be run by lawyers and not legitimate home builders. We put $10k earnest money down and spent a lot of time, energy and additional funds for interior upgrades to personalize our future home.

When my confirmed funding was going to be delayed for 2 weeks Century informed me that our contract included a provision allowing them to increase the purchase price by 1.5% if the closing date was not met. When I reluctantly agreed they came back 2 days later and stated that the purchase price would be increase by $30,000 (market demand), then the 1.5% increase would apply. Sadly we can no longer afford the home of our dreams and I am losing all of the funds that I had deposited. I am sure that all of this is legal, but if you want to do business with a builder with an unquestionable standard of ethics and a reputation for the highest levels of customer satisfaction then...well, Caveat Emptor !
