colonial home warranty Ripp off Company- not Peacefull mind at all !! willmington delaware

 This is regards to the dispute against the colonial home warranty. I had purchased this home warranty for the “peace of mind” that they advertise when selling the product. I have nothing but bad experiences in dealing with my claims thus far. First of all, in May 2013, I claimed that my AC was not working at home. Both the units had some coil problems. I contacted colonial home warranty and they promised to send technician home for diagnosis. After several tries, they were unable to find any of the technicians to come to my home for diagnosis. I had to hire my own technician to diagnose and fix the issue. Apparently I had manufacturer’s warranty for parts only, and I had to pay for the labor out of my pocket, because colonial refused to cover the labor portion of my repair, stating that they don’t cover units under manufacturer’s warranty. In October, I contacted them for my dryer repair. This time, they would not repair my unit, instead, they wanted to “buy out” the dryer for a paltry $198 instead of fixing the problem. I paid $400 to fix this using the technician they sent home. I am not sure why I am paying nearly $1000 for four years of home warranty, when they don’t fix my items. Where can I buy a dryer of 7.5cu ft capacity for $200?? When asked about this, they would not give me any satisfactory answer. They are stating that a broken drum is manufacturer’s defect and hence they would not fix it. How can there be a manufacturer’s defect after 7yrs of buying the product??? How can a broken drum be a manufacturer’s defect in the first place?? It is just a part of use and wear. I want a full refund of my premium from them, since they have not fixed any of my major issues I have had at home. Or, they can just pay my $400 I had to pay for my dryer repair and not use “buy out “option.
