I recently saw a ad on tv where they had lap tops of $ 49.00 & pants (name brand) & shoes for $ 10.00 , I traveled over 100 miles to go to the sale, upon reaching the sale they had a sign posted saying that the ad was misleading on the pants & shoes & wasn't there fault it was who made the ad. After reading all these testimonials its clear to see they haven't fixed there ad from prior sales, & as for the flat top monitor they were out of them, but they did have a few other models at a increase in price.

I found a model that had a clear picture 17 in. screen lcd name brand & it was only   $ 99.00, I asked the salesman if it had a warranty & he said yes it did  ( 1 year mfg. warranty) I purchased the item. 2  weeks later the screen went black, I called the manufacture & they said that model had been in 2005 for warranty repair & there was no warranty on it. I called S & S  which put the show on & they gave me a number to call  got a answering machine ( I still havent got a call back from them)

so I called the number on my receipt & they said no the salesman didn't offer a warranty, but for just $ 25.00 & for that day only they would replace it with a comparable one. ( I was taught that you don't put good money after bad money)

so I called the place where they put on the event & gave them this website for them to choose in they want to have them return or not for future shows.

I am surprised the local authoritys in each of these towns haven't gone after them for bait & switching.

AUTHOR: Compu Electonics - (United States of America)

First off, I don't know anyplace legitamitely that you can buy a $49 dollar laptop with a warranty unless you are shopping at Toys-R-Us and the label says "Barbie" on it.  That is about it!!  However, the TV ad's are exactly what they are, just advertisements.  I have one question, did you get a brand name or specific model with specs on the commercial??  I seriously doubt it!!  However, We do sell some brand named desktop computers for $99 and some pretty good laptops with excellent warranties for as low as $149 which is more reasonable and realistic.  F.Y.I to you sir/customer, we DON'T make the advertisements either, nor are we the ONLY computer vendor at the show that you attended.  You can sometimes find crazy deals from other vendors trying to get rid of things for less without any warranty.  If you purchased a 17" inch screen that was a display item, then the warranty would have been written or applied to the original terms on your receipt.  Everything is written on your sales receipt.  It seems like everyone that has complained on this site NEVER READS their sales receipt!!  It is very strange!! They look at it prior to purchasing the product and then complain weeks to months later!!  Very strange!!  If your screen blacked out within 2 weeks and it was a display item or not new item, then we can exchange it for you.  The important information that you left out in your report is that we probably agreed to exchange it out for you, but YOU didn't want to pay to ship the monitor back to our facility!!  Correct??  It sounds like that is what happened due to you mentioning $25 dollars which is what we charge for return shipping in an RMA#.  If the monitor had a good quality picture for 2 weeks and then blacked out, this is tragic and it can happen.  It has happened to brand new out of the box monitors before after just a few hours of usage.  So, this is tragic and very possible, however, we could have easily gotten you an RMA for return for exchange, but you wasted your time and got yourself all frustrated writing a post here!!  You know where we are if you need us.

Thanks,

Compu Electronics
